Hi, sorry for the delay in replying. Taking care of myself is something I'm not very good at. I'm not used to putting myself first, and if I do, it feels selfish and self-absorbed. If someone puts me first or attempts to take care of me, it often feels uncomfortable. This means I sometimes feel depleted because I'm giving out and not getting back or not accepting back. But I'm slowly learning that the same care I put out is the same care I deserve.
I can so relate to what you've shared here. I find it so much easier to care for others than I do myself, to let people know how great they are, etc (I run a program too). In a way, it's what makes me feel good. However, I absolutely suck at directing that energy towards myself. Today, I had a mini breakdown - something happened that brought home how much I haven't been taking care of myself and how comfortable I've gotten with that.
@SongJuice It can be a "Who heals the healer?" kind of thing. Taking care of yourself is super important, but it can also be helpful to have support from others who remind you to take care of yourself. I'm glad I was able to be one of those others who remind you. (: ~Kyeli (posted under Pace's account because Pace is typing for me)
Can you do a video/post on ideas of how to take care of yourself please, as I very much got the impression you aren't just talking about the physical side such as eating right.
@Turktm72 I do like photography! I'm kyelikins on Flickr if you'd like to see my photostream. ~Kyeli (posted under Pace's account because Pace is typing for me)
