Damage of ligaments and muscules won't help growth and in children and teenagers they still have what is called a growth plate in their bones which is compared once hardened once you reach adulthood pretty weak. hey herman i have a question. how much weight do you use in your normal workout in this machine to get those abs? i don't know if i should keep progressing in this machine cuz i wanted to start my cut phase but i wouldn't want to be disapointed to see small abs after burning all the belly fat.
Working abs is indeed always excellent. I use an older Cybex abs crunch that has an ankle brace in the front to hook feet under and one in back to put feet back there for variation. I don't know if your machine is different but I don't go down as far as you but just crunch my abs to move the bar down not so far--that is the abs just crunch the bar down with no bending at the waist. I also do Left Column and Right Column abs flexing.
Good stuff Scott! I like the third postion you show the best. I'll have to try that the next time i'm at the gym. I'm always looking for new ways to work my abs. Good demo!
yes i have heard of that program, i think there are some friends of mine here that have a couple of those dvds. being in school and all makes it sorta difficult to find time to work i guess. running is a two sided way for me to get my mind relaxed for studies or after studying and still being able to get my work out in. i do some push ups and sit ups but it never seems to target that one spot right below my waist. i can feel the ab muscles, but i cant see them :P thanks for the quick reply!
hey scott, im a huge fan of running. so my legs and thighs get a good work out that way. but my stomach remains flat and hardly defined. im thinking of joining ballys or golds gym, but is there a better way to get muscle without having to pay for a gym membership? running is good yes, but to get upper body definition are there other 'natural' ways that i can do at my dorm? i eat well, lots of protein and all... dark chocolate and no candy lol... anyways, i want better abs thats my main goal :)

Many, many thanks for this video Scott. This is one of those machines I felt like I didn't know what I was doing...I'll try the new arm fold technique and lowering the seat down a bit more. Many hours of frustration with this machine heretoforth.
