And I like this version a little more than the album version...its not as intense; its like an actual song, rather than a dramatic rock-opera. So if you wanna sing along dramatically, you take the album; but if you want the song, you take this one.

Whenever I hear this song, I don't think it is Light singing, I think it is a human singing to his lover after the events of the first album. I know I am wrong, but I like the idea of a human being moved by MegaMan's fight/betrayal and Protoman's death to finally fight against Wily in an attempt to be free. To know he is free, fullfilling Protoman's dying words. From a story point-of-view, it just makes more sense to me.

I don't have an official source, but I wouldn't be surprised since there IS a song that takes place before act I (Father of Death) and I like to think that this song takes place after the first album.
