Brütal Legend is the perfect video game for people that are new to the heavy metal music. Is soundtrack reunites classic stuff with modern stuff. For me, a listener of heavy metal, long before playing the game, intruduced me to new bands, that have awesome songs!

Rotting Christ is one of those bands that gets accused of Satanism alot and, frankly, I don't know for certain. They've been outspokenly Anti-Christian in some of their interviews (though come from Greece being not only very Christian, but very dogmatic as well). I think they've rejected Satanism and talked about it in an inteview (though I may be mixing up bands). According to Wikipedia at least they've moved away from distinctly Satanic themes in recent years, more towards mystic themes now.

RC isn't really Satanist as are most of the other black metal bands. Sakis said that they just play on the "dark side" of metal. They are simply anti-religious, rather than Satanist.

In addition, the riff at 4:04 - 4:25 is orgasmic.

in general ''a dead poem'' is my favourite album, really atmospheric. Some songs from ''triarchy of the lost lovers'' are also great (eg: archon, shadows follow). For those seeking really dark stuff check the album ''thy mighty contract'' from 1993...

Their new album ''aealo'' has got great reviews too, but I don't have an opinion yet.
