All i wanted to do when i left school was drive a truck, i passed my HGV1 as soon as i was 21 im now 46 and haven't driven for the last 10 years, back in 1985 i remember my father saying, its not as glamorous as you think and he was right, now with all the rules and regs it can only be described as a f**king nightmare, i haven't been for my last medical and i dont intend to.

Yeah and like a £200 fine for bent driving means anything when in France or Germany they'll fine you 1800 euros and impound your truck and are you gonna face a cop with a gun so you wont abuse them, i think that getting nicked in the UK is cheap............
Hard working men? most are! but VOSA only seem to get the bad ones....I wonder if thats because they are breaking the law!!....."CLOWNS WHO KILL" is my saying for anyone who is breaking their drivers hours rules or maintenance problems that they should have seen. Comments like yours make me wonder how many idiots out there think like you. If your legal your fine, if your not then I hope they get you!! Most are trying to do the job right!!!!
@gp777777 Too true, I can never understand why people feel they need to run bent unless they are a owner driver. All the ones I've met have one thing in common, theyre all thick! Im please to say out out over 50 companies Ive driven for only 3 have been naughty and one I reported it was that bad I couldnt believe things like that still went on!
