  • The other difference is that the mob storylines were NOT the focus of the show. And the show did not focus on two characters. It was an ensemble. And it was not always violent. It was not as dark. It was about friendship, romance, and adventure.

  • A lot has been said throughout all of the hundreds of clips that todays GH is all mob and the hospital part of GH is long gone. BUT... GH had really gotten away from the basis of lives centered around the hospital back in the 80's with adventure. That's when GH changed the most but I LOVED it! I haven't seen it since early 90's. These clips have made me crush on Jack Wagner all over again, along with ALL the actors back then!!! They were so believable and had the feeling of family.

  • While it's true that GH had adventure based stories back in the 80's and 90's, it was balanced with hospital stories. Mr. B's mob storyline was the headliner of the day but there were other storylines going on at the same time involving the hospital staff. They may not all have been in the hospital but they involved people who worked there. These days, the only characters that still work in the hospital that are showecased are Robin, Patrick and Elizabeth and if there's a blue moon, Monica.

  • Agree with pxl. Those past storylines were brilliant!

  • Outdoor scenes... wow! GH had more money AND better writers back then... How I miss those days!

  • Jeez... Has there ALWAYS been mob storylines???

  • Sort of BUT the difference back then was that they were better written and the cops were the intelligent smart characters.
