You should never rely on other opinions about stuff. If I had done that, I would have never seen the Speed Racer movie which, as it turns out, kicks ass. Also, where's Robotech? That's one of the most asskicking robot series there is.

@Dantick09 Transformers may have been animated in Japan but the story, characters, idea behind the show, locations, in other words everything but the actual animation came from the U.S. where Hasbro has it's headquarters. Japan got the show second.

I'm okay if you don't like evangelion, just don't write it off 'cuz you hear bad things about it. It is very low budget and is an absolute freak show, but I loved it. You have to watch it before you are allowed to love or hate it. XP

@namedonimpulse Okay I literally made this video in in 2007. My tastes in anime have changed drastically. As what I think of NGE, its a mixed bag. Great music, great atmosphere, horrible characters, rushed plot, and starit up weird themes. I would recommend it to people who haven't seen it however, as its one of the true classics of this medium.

Like everyone else said, watch Evangelion if you like "mecha" series that focus more on characters than the actual "mecha" or political situation. Also, reason why I'm using quotes between the word mecha is because the Eva Units in the show are more like cyborgs.

Anyhow, if you are ever interested in watching NGE, keep in mind that all of those religious symbols in the show were added there to separate it from other mecha series at the time (aka "for shits and giggles").

Jamick, maybe the reason why mobile suits like the Gundam were used in space, is simply that they are primarily used as a means to construct those giant orbiting space colonies in orbit. Besides, using a giant mobile suit that would simulate human movement will definitely accomplish the task more quickly. And this is most probably the reason why the Zeon from the original Gundam series decides to put them into practical use in war.

In my opinion Megas XLR is my number 1 anime. Really, I just love how he is fighting all of the Glorft and manages to suffer not a single dent... Well, one time he had a dent in the bumper or something, but yeah, Megas is Indestructable under Coop's control

Wasn't too much of a fan of Gundam 00. It really wasn't as great as it's earlier series. But I did love G Gundam way back when. Neon Genesis Evangelion is probably one of the best out there, it's just the psychological parts that most people dread if they don't understand it.
