Hey i'm 18 and have only been clubbing in sunderland and i'm going out to newcastle in a few weeks and i was wondering what kind of shoes/trainers should i wear for newcastle? For sunderland i'd normally wear toms/plymsols, but i know newcastle is stricter any advice please lads!

depends what music you want and that, theres plenty of dubstep, drum and bass nights on, plenty of indie nights and that, bit of everything thats why its lush, not just the charves down the bigg market (although i do love the bigg market for predrinks)

@durhamboys Most people start in or near the Gate, then either work their way downwards to the Bigg Market for the dance-type bars full, or to the Diamond Strip where the trendy venues are like Perdu, Madame Koos, Revolution, etc.

Finish up in Liquid-Envy, Blu Bambu or Tiger-Tiger on a saturday night.

Newcastle's Wicked. A lot of ppl who visit here for the first time or so tend to just goto the Gate and end up at the BigMarket. Tbh, no wonder sum ppl have a bad view on Newcastle's nightlife if they go to the BigMarket. Its rotten! But theres sum lush bars around, just u need to know wer t go, just ask :) lol

If you wanna get hammered for as little money as possible, you can buy 3 trebles at Basement (right next to Monument) for £5.90. Get drunk off them, then head off to a club.

Personally, I like the gate, but if you don't then that's definately a better option.

Players in the Gates really cheap on Monday nights and for doubles. And if u mean "better end" as in nicer bars, florita's, Purdu, Bejoux and TupTup Palace are cool aswell, theyr all near eachother. If u just head to the bottom of the Big market where u were in the vid, turn right and the nicer bars are along there :D The reason ppl dont seem as friendly up the Big Market is cos its full of Charvers ... always wear a bullet proof vest ;)

I think the gate is minging full of chavs and scals. Its just the new big market. Its dated already its like living in a time warp some where between the late 80's and early 90's.

There are much better places to visit n be proud of. i took some foreign friends to gate to the cinema and they were shocked at how rough newcastle can be. Half the women look like whores
