As his body goes lower, isn't this called a "drag down?" He's using his arm as a lever to transfer his weight onto opponent's arm. Meantime, opponent remains seated upright. Technique added to strength doesn't mean greater strength. Same as jerk vs pure press! Arm wrestling will never be the most accurate way to test arm strength. Could he have still won, using the strict posture of the opponent? Maybe, but it sure would have taken longer--and he didn't want it to take longer.
