Hi, I liked this video so much. We've actually have a traditional Musical Drama of this song in our church. And within days we're about to have an event, where I really wanted to show the teens this drama, but there was no time. Then i found this video and you saved the Sermon on saturday. The problem thou was that the quality was to poor to show it on a big screen. So i took the initiative to create a HD version of this, with some small changes on pictures etc, I've given you all the cred thou!
I was awoken this night, by Gods merciful, cleansing rain The salty taste of tears on my skin Ran twards earth? in a cooling stream I saw myself and my betrayal, Saw the house I once left behind I will rise and return to my Father, but all I own is a life in ruins My child, that you came; I have waited and longed for you! Kyrie Eleison Kyrie eleison christu eleison
The hand grasps for the nail. Messiah, you are as weak as we are. He is innocent! We get what we deserve. Once you have got the power, think of me! Before this day is over, you will walk with me in Paradise.
Sorry for my poor English. And Norweigan. However, hope you will understand some of it. There are different persons singing. In the first its the son and the father. In the second, jews, the whore and Jesus. In the last, Jesus and two criminals.
This woman is a whore. We want to see her body, see her bleed. The one of you that is whitout fault may stepp fourth and make their judgement. They turn away, one by one. They carry their stones with them and disappears. Woman, this is what I want to say: Go home in peace, and do not sin anymore. In the darkness, Gods light shines. And the light judges, and the light saves.
Kyrie Eleison means something like: Lord, have mercy with me.
First part about the lost son:
I was woken up this night by Gods mercyful, cleansing rain. The salty taste of tears on my skin fell to the ground in a swelling stream. I saw myself and my betaryal, saw the home I once lost. I want to stand up and go home to my father. But everything I own is a ruined life. My child, oh that you came! How I have been waiting for you!
This song is also under Oslo Gospel Choir Kyrie Eleison! Write it in the "Seach", and then you will look at PAGE 4, there is the ENGLISH TRANSLATION for you. Someone did this before. From Norwegen into English....
Hi.. I love this melody and would like to understand what the song is about... can you give me the English translation please???? I would be so grateful!!!!
Vi skal ha sånn skuespill med den sangen på vår konfe undervisning og der skal jeg spille en sønn som har dratt fra sitt hjem. Det er det fra starten av sangen :P:P:P
@grummel8629 The chorus is in Greek: "Kyrie Eleison" means "Lord, have (show) mercy". The verses are in Norwegian. Each of them re-tell stories from the New Testament:
Verse 1 is the parable of the prodigal son. From the gospel of Luke chapter 15 verses 11-32.
Verse 2 is the story of the woman caught in adultery, where Jesus defends her against the mob. Gospel of John, chapter 8.
Verse 3 is about the robbers that were crucified together with Jesus. Gospel of Luke, chapter 23, verses 26-42
