thanks for this! my first time didn't go as smoothly, wish i'd watched this prior to attempting it.. with that double pour-ish shaped cup issue, i spilled most of my juice :)
I got the same prodigy:) I noticed that the hi-speed-rotating-blade juicers leave a half of juice in the pulp, so I additionally bought the manual healthy juicer (Lexen). First, I make a carrot juice in hi-speed juicer, next I extract juice from the pulp (formed in hi-speed juicer). And thanks to that 2 processes, I get twice more juice than from the hi-speed juicer only:))) The double mass of juice - this is it!
I have this manual juicer and love it. I've been using it for 4 years without any problems and have made juice with vegetables and fruits. I've already used apples, carrots, kale, lettuce, tomatoes, potatoes, celery, spinach and broccoli. It's easy to assemble and easy to clean. It only took me about 3 minutes to take it apart and wash it. Every morning I make my green juice and enjoy all those great nutrients.
@bilibalala It depends on the size of tray and how tall the grass is. I had a 5"X5" tray with grass about 6" tall and got about an ounce. Hope that helps!
@tiatdivad I agree ... And for anybody who is wondering the reason its dripping at the front is the grenn and white nuts need to be tighter ,little spanner included
@culuscanis I got mine at Whole Foods Market. I found one of many stores in my area that actually carried it. If your Whole Foods Market doesn't carry it just ask if they can order it.
Don't jam too much grass or greens in there at once or you will put too much pressure on the crank and it will break. Also always use the clamp and don't rely on just the suction or the whole thing will come off the table while juicing, spilling everything on the floor and you will be very pissed.
You don't need to use the metal clamp, that's only if you're setting it up on a none smooth surface because the rubber piece on the bottom is a suction cup and when you set it on the counter, you turn the front piece that says "lock and unlock" and it will lock and unlock the suction cup.
I'm interested of juice only. The whole vegetables are not too digestible, the stomach has lot of work with cellulose. Also when we separate juice from the vegetable, all toxic and needless substances stay in the pulp. The carrot is very submissive to environment pollutions.
But I agree with your hint regarding the fruits - I everyday grind the apples to the mousse. Better to eat the entire mass of fruit - for fibre, peel, pectins etc. It's also more tasty.
Nice video demo. I am considering. getting one of these Healthy Juicers for my leafy greens. I can't stand even the smell of Wheat Grass, so it will be for other dark leafy greens
I almost bought this little juicer. I'm not a fan of wheatgrass shots but I'm a big fan of its health benefits. So, naturally, juicing other fruit and veggies makes a lot of sense as far as flavor goes. When I heard that this wheatgrass juicer couldn't handle hard veggies I figured a good all-purpose electric would have to do. Lexen also makes an electric model that from all indications will do a good all-purpose job of extraction.
The manual juicer needs to change the spout location too.
@metaspherz I agree that the electric one seems very sturdy. I was really hoping that they'd send me that one to review... :-D Since they haven't- if you've gotten the electric juicer, would you stop back here and let us know how it works?
@gooruraw Because this was a product review, not a how-to. I was sent the juicer free of charge in exchange for a review. I followed the directions provided and this is the result.
Ummm.... that juicer can also attach to the counter top by suction!!!!!!!! You aren't required to even use the vice to hold it on. Maybe you should have done more research.
@Vegirobin *lol* I'm a very much "by the rules" kind of gal. I used this juicer only once, and it was only for the purpose of review. 1-800 Juicer sent me this juicer to review, so I simply followed directions. If you notice, the video is not labeled "how to" but rather "review". Part of that involves doing what the manufacturer recommends.
There is no need to grow or buy wheatgrass.I read from numerous reliable sources that all grasses are edible,I mean drinkable, the liquid, not the fiberous part. I was very excited when I heard this that I ran outside and cut tons of wild grass with scissors and juiced it.
@brendandylanmaloney Perhaps, but I think you need to make sure that the wild grass or your backyard grass was not sprayed with chemicals. That is why growing your own or buying the wheatgrass from health food store is much safer!
Mandy- I've never heard that tip before, but it's interesting! Actually, despite my rather liking the juicer itself, I hated the juice! *lol* It also takes a lot of wheatgrass to get a little juice, so wasn't worth it to me. Best of luck if you do!
Could you tell me if that machine can also make a juice from the CARROTS? If I first shred carrots into small pieces (0,5 cm), can this juicer extract the juice from it? How much can I squeeze out from 0,5 kg of carrots? Have you tried it earlier?
@szymusiek1980 I didn't try it, but I think that if the pieces were thin enough that it would work. Honestly though, if you go through the trouble to grate or slice the carrots that small anyway, I'd recommend that you just invest in a good blender or food processor and make green smoothies with it. It would be just as easy or easier, and you'd get the benefit of the fiber as well.
Thanks for the video :)! I have on too, bought last winter, used it only once since@the time of purchase there was no information about it being able to juice only grass. I tried carrots and it was a nightmare, slow and what even worse - juice yield was lower than my cheap centrifugal juicer. So yeah, havent tried for greens yet, will try ;)!
Mandy- I don't know how to get more juice out of the grass, but I have read that it isn't until the wheat grass matures that the simple sugars turn into complex sugars and the full health benefits are released.
I decided that I don't like wg juice much, so I sold the juicer! Sorry. :-( I do think that if I'd have twisted that nob a bit tighter that it wouldn't have dripped but I didn't try it.
This is a good manual juicer, though. The pieces are all really solid, and it did clean easily.
I read that is best to juice wheatgrass starting at the tips facing down to get more juice, are you still juicing wheatgrass? If so, how are you likeing it? I read that there are many benefits to drinking wheatgrass juice and it can even keep hair from going grey and can help grey hair to grow back with color :) were you ever able to fix that drip? I am thinking about buying this same juicer :)

I' have one of these, and have used it daily for about 3 or 4 years.
This little juicer rocks!
I use it for juicing almost everything.
I don't use the clamp at all, you don't need to use the clamp as the suction base is very strong.
All you need to do is to press a little on top of the unit and then twist the lock in place, it holds very, very well.

@RawManRaines Don't worry, I suspect that we're not the only ones. Those instructions weren't very clear, and the machine itself isn't intuitive!
