  • He doesn't say "and". in the line:

One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them

  • His r's are just so wet and round

  • @abc114able but his memory lives on. im not stupid

  • It would be cool to learn black speech, but unfortunately mordor class is the direct opposite direction of a vagina...

  • if only he would have lived long enough to write the tale of Melkor and his return from the void.....

  • shivers!!! LONG LIVE TOLKIEN!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @cardinalbird26 Except that he's dead...

  • *starts shaking, finds herself on the floor*

Struck by lightning! Struck by lightning!

  • Nerdgasim

  • @TheGenesisProjects Tell me why I also got chills listening to this

  • Tolkien was almost killed in the trenches of WW1. Can you all imagine how different, how much less our world would have been if one young German soldier has aimed a little straighter??

  • @MikeyOracle no, more likely be glad a shell didn't strike him

  • @MikeyOracle i dont wanna kno dude......

  • This is the first time I hear his voice!

  • I just nerded... Everywhere

  • *claps like a seal* Read us another story, Papa Tolkien! :D

  • Ironically, Tolkien himself hated speaking Black Speech in its purest form.

  • Tolkien is everybody's unofficial third grandfather.

  • I was fortunate to have had a friend who had recorded Tolkien and sent copies that I could hear him read portions as I was devouring it at seven years if age. His voice always sent chills down my spine. What a wondrous experience!

  • Well...I...people are going to hate this, but, I never imagined that poem being recited so...well...quickly. I'd expected a slower, more ominous reading, if I'm honest. Obviously this is the way it was meant, since the author himself reads it, but I can't help but feel it was...rushed. Oh well, just my opinion, of course.

  • Magnifico, semplicemente magnifico.

  • Tolkien is a storytelling genius. Nuff said.

  • It's quite something, hearing the professor himself recite these lines.

  • Afroxec, the obvious troll that is obvious. I suppose I shouldn't worry about it though. The sun will rise and turn him to stone soon enough.

  • But I don't think this is his real voice... listen to the recording of the Namarië poem... it is quite different. There was a recording of actors of this verse, and I think this might be the case.

  • @mamadoritos This is definitely Tolkiens voice

  • This is epic!

  • It is a shame that this amazing recording of one of the greatest works of literature of our time has to be disrupted by snide disgusting and stupid comments by SOME (not all) people. Afroxec you are nasty.

  • @x0xhoneybee0x0 Amen to that. Afroxec, I kinda feel sorry for you.

  • @x0xhoneybee0x0 I very much agree with you, I just wanted to say though that in a way I think you are sort of giving these immature children what they want by even responding and giving them acknowledgement you know? Sort of like "Feeding the trolls," so to speak. Disgracefull fools who try and dirty something so holly, as the Lord and Master Tolkien himself reciting the epic script from THE single greatest works, deserves to simply be shunned and ignored. :/

  • Magnificent.

    Now to create my own.

  • Lordgasm.

  • lol he almost sounds like crowley lol

  • Ooh what's that I spy there? A troll?? TWO trolls??? Why look at that. Now back to the video/recording! I'm happy tolkien recorded some of his works. It really helps me see how he meant for his words to be read :) and especially his recordings in Quenya and in Sindarin, they help so much with proper pronunciation of the elvish! x) thank you for posting this @chamberofrecords!

  • Chill on my neck, guys

  • Anyone notice that he rolls his R's?

  • Alriiiight! That's what I'm tolkien about!

  • There will never be another master carftsman the likes of J.R.R. Tolkien. His words and his sopirit will live on in his writings even when mankind travels to the stars in spaceship. There will always be an escape on those long boring days through the power and beauty of his words and the land of Middle Earth.

  • @Afroxec No he wasn't.

  • @CoolerKing37 YES HE WAS

  • @Afroxec Prove it.

  • @CoolerKing37 u cant read so whats the point? rofl

  • @Afroxec I just take that as you saying "I have no real proof so I'll just be the passive aggressive dick I truly am".

  • @CoolerKing37 Protip: Don't feed the troll.

  • @Afroxec at least he's not a nigger LOL

  • @Afroxec please tell me your not calling Tolkien a racist because he said land of shadow and dark lord.

  • @Alexlance1997 ur a fucking moron

  • @Afroxec Tolkien was not a racist, just look it up. He had disgust for racism and wrote against the racial segregation in South Africa. If you are calling him racist because the enemy in Lord of the Rings is call the "The Dark Lord". Then A: You don't know much and fantasy literature, B: you know nothing about Tolkien. He had a interest in Norse mythology so yes most of the people in the books were going to be white. Does that male him a racist, no and your a illiterate moron.

  • @golddoommarine ur ignorance is appalling go kill yer self u racist enabler

  • @Afroxec So what exactly is your plan? This is a comment section. Your opinion is about as important as an ass hair on a dust speck. You really cant do anything. You are most likely alone hunched over your computer monitor under a bridge. You have no real friends and your life is a shallow existence of guttural name calling in order to give yourself a sense of mild satisfaction. Any negative reply to what I have just said will do no more than reinforce my claims of your worthlessness. ^o^

  • @EnsisCruentus ur a faggot stfu rofl

  • @EnsisCruentus loser stop writing paragraphs of useless content on yt fag rofl

  • @Afroxec Black trolls are the worst. Even worse than cave trolls.

  • @AshTheMohican rofl y u mad fag? rofl

  • @Afroxec lolwut?

  • @AshTheMohican rofl ur a tard faggot lol

  • @Afroxec My point is proven. I win.

  • @EnsisCruentus ur a dumb faggot rofl

  • @Afroxec My ignorance? Have read the books or read anything about him? Until you have researched him and looked up what he said, then you are the ignorant one. You can't judge someone simply by the type of people they wrote into their stories. He was no racist, he was disgusted by the segregation in South Africa and by actions of Adolf Hitler. I would like to see your evidence that he was racist, not just your assumptions based on his stories. You sir are a illiterate an ignorant moron.

  • ash nazg durbatulûk, ash nazg gimbatul, ash nazg thrakatulûk agh burzum-ishi krimpatul

  • he rules all the r's when he says mordor

  • Tolkien une légende à lui seul!

  • Tolkien is KING!

  • I feel chills listening to the master himself read this :)

  • So, not even the shadows are honest in Mordor?

  • ...Sauron's army is growing, soon it will number in the mid twenties

  • JRR TOLKIEN IS THE BEST

  • If anyone is interested in the audiobooks there is a truly fantastic version read by "Rob Inglis" available on torrents. He reads it better than I read it in my head, how about that. I listen to it while driving. I'm currently listening to it for the 3rd time in 2 years. Anyway, if you like audiobooks LOTR by Rob Inglis is most fair and I fancy it would please the ears of Elves even.

  • Tolkien is Illuvatar

  • press 4, try to repeat word by word in one try

  • Tengwar looks like Georgian...

  • GRANDE PROFESOR TOLKIEN

Y GRANDE TAMBIEN SU AMIGO CS LEWIS.

    LARGA VIDA A ELLOS

    AGUANTE PERELANDRA DE LEWIS.

Y LOS HIJOS DE HURIN DE TOLKIEN.

    NAMARIE.

    NICO BOLSON

  • He is so cool. :3

  • sauron stop creating accounts to dislike this video!!!

  • Yeah...I got goosebumps from that one. It would be like God dictating the bible to you. Nice post.

  • @BrainCreep get a life mkay?

  • J.R.R. Tolkein is truly amazing!

  • I wonder what he would think if he saw the movies today.....

  • @inphasesith yep,it could be a great interview xD

  • @inphasesith he actually tought that his movies were unfilmable

  • @gmredbaron96 The movies are good but they don't capture all the magic of Tolkien's books. To fully convey Tolkien's world on film really would be impossible.

  • OH MY GOD.....

  • Listening to this, it's fairly obvious where Ian McKellen got his inspiration for Gandalf's voice.

  • so this is the voice of Master Tolkien *.*

  • @2sheol Please copy his little trick. I would love for someone else to make more.

  • @2sheol You posted that just to have an argument with somebody. Why would a non fan come to this video and say that? if you don't like it go somewhere else.

  • @5whattheheck a lot better actually

  • wow its hard to believe that all of this came out of his imagination, its really makes you think...

  • epic

  • Just hearing this... makes me think... that Tolkien was just the man we've all imagined

  • @5whattheheck

You're telling the author how to read his own book? ;p

  • oh my god, such passion....

  • "Ash nazg, gimbatul. Ash nazg, durbatuluk!

Ash nazg, thrakatuluk, ag bursum ishi krimpatul!"

  • @Maridianokusho that language is never to be spoken again, you evil servant of Morgoth!

  • @Kaiser325 ^^ "Nonetheless I do not apologize." (;

  • And this resumes years of my life spent reading that book. I don´t regret.

  • "We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender!".....oooops!!!

  • J.R.R. Tokien is the best man ever !

  • @VardaonArda who the fuck gave thumps down for your quote?

  • @junintrip I don't know...

  • Not trying to point out any wrong stuff but you said gimbatul wrong...

  • @TheBumbleBunny It was Tolkien himself, he couldn't spell it wrong!

  • @intwernet isen't it pronounced chimbatul?

  • @TheBumbleBunny I don't know exactly how, but who said it?

  • @intwernet Ï have seen it on a webpage + it is in the movies. But Tolkien made elvish self so he knows it better than uss

  • @TheBumbleBunny its KRIMPATUL

  • What font is used in the beginning title?

  • ONE RING TO RULE THEM ALL, ONE RING TO FIND THEM ALL AND ONE RING TO BIND THEM:

3:33 "three rings for the elvin kings under the sky, seven for the dwarf lords in their halls of stone, nine for mortal men doomed to die, one for the dark lord on his dark throne in the land of mordor where the shadows lie. one ring to rule them all, one ring to find them, one ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them..."

wisdom is enlightenmnt, darkness is ignorance, ex. good idea, lightbulb...

  • Interesting, as many dislikes as there are non-One rings

  • Awesome! An English person speaking English properly! A thing not to be found in the days of the insidious Plain English Movement (if anyone would found a Plain French Movement, we would look that person up lunatic asylum ere he or she could explain what this plain movement is all about!) very often. But I wonder if Monsieur Tolkien did record a complete reading of his books? As he has a very pleasant voice for a story teller and knows how the characters have to be depicted.

  • I can't wait to meet him when I go to see the Lord Jesus Christ, him along with C.S. Lewis the writer of the Chronicles of Narnia.

  • @LordGodsServant omg i never thought of that! i'm not just gonna see mah family in heaven

  • Tolkien is nothing less than (in my humble opinion) the greatest fiction epic author the world has seen. His works top Harry Potter, Star Wars, and even the Chronicles of Narnia.

Interesting thing was that J R R Tolkien and C S Lewis (the writers of Narnia and LOTR) were very good friends and that Tolkien was a great influence in bring Lewis to know the Lord Jesus Christ.

The epic scope that the LOTR reaches is amazing, I would've loved to meet this genius. I am happy he is with the Lord.

  • @LordGodsServant please die and go be with thr lord.

  • @Palegrihm What reason did he give you to justify your hostility? (by the way, the answer is none)

  • @LordGodsServant please die and go be with the lord.

  • @LordGodsServant I want to learn how to write Tengwar

  • So now I know why they said 'Morrdorr' in the film!

  • is there a place where you can find these audios only (to buy or download)?

  • I.....I am speechless.

Professor Tolkien, you have my utmost respect.

  • It's fair to say that most people's imagination in the modern world pales in comparison to the infinite amount of thought and wisdom in Tolkien's mind.

I'd have given an arm and a leg just to speak to him

  • @kingtom256 yes me too, inside i feel i just want to get out of th circle of people who call me a weirdo cuz i really do not listen to lady Gaga and i really don't hate bieber with my whole heart. i just dont care about them; they do not deserve my attention in my opinion. but Tolkien maybe would have been the person to get it - elves, long haired men... ("is that a guy or a girl in your drawing?"). too bad he died before i was even born.

  • 1 Sauron + 9 Nazgul + 9 other Orks= 19 disslikes!

  • @FrodoB13 Don't think so..... 9 Veasleys, 3 Potters, 3 Dursley's, Voldemort, Dumbledore, Ron and Hermione - 19 dislikes, HP sucked! Only really good personalitys were - dementors ;P

  • @Werewolf9098 Isn't Ron already included in the Weasleys? xD

  • @LunaHelsinkiBlack Whooops, well it can be...

    Bellatrix instead? XDDD

  • @FrodoB13 you forgot Saruman

  • @HakaProductions1 And the Mouth of Sauron for that matter. Or did he just vote in Sauron's place and is in fact impartial to the whole of this video?

  • Comment removed

  • @FrodoB13 no dude i think its Harry Potter fans

  • @FrodoB13 Apparently Saruman has joined the dislikers

  • @FrodoB13 Hahaha..you missed couple more orks

  • Comment removed

  • Oh, I love Tolkien so much! ♥ He was a genius.

    How cute was his voice.

I use to think about him as a grandfather. My grandfather.

  • Comment removed

  • moooooooooooooRe of it!

  • morrrrrdor

    Lol!

  • I think it'd be fair to say that JRR Tolkien was a nice old dude with a healthy imagination.

  • Why must people have to bother this much with whoever disliked the video, despite how few of them there are?

There's always this point where, past it, you start being doubtful if everybody is only making unmeaningful jokes.

  • 18 hipsters who "used to like Tolkien before he became popular" disliked this video to punish him for becoming a household name.

  • i think some dickmunchers on youtube dislike videos because they can...if i find you i will strangle you >:D

  • @Bangeo69 hehehe....but before you do, just look at them in the eye and go: "I seeeeeeeeeee youuuuuuuuuu"

  • I love the way he says Mordor, he spits it with the evil it connotes. J.R.R Tolkien, how we love thee.

  • How can this possibly have dislikes? I cannot put into words how amazing and beautiful it is to hear Tolkien himself speak words from such a masterpiece. Priceless.

  • his beautifull voice...

I just love to J.R.R Tolkien

    The creator of middle earth

I Love The lord of the rings.

  • "The language is that of MORRRDOR, which I will not utter here; in the Common Tongue, it has the words "BAD MOTHERF*CKER" written on it, close enough." part of a much longer verse remembered by the elves:

    Grundig blaupunkt luger frug

    Watusi snarf wazoo

    Nixon dirksen nasahist

    Rebozo boogaloo.

  • download this with an mp3 converter than put it on your ipod!

  • The Silmarillon has more truth in it than the Quran, Bible and Torah combined!

  • @MaIcoImZieI I totally agree with you! I do believe in Ilúvatar, in Manwë, Elbereth...! Tolkien put in words and tales all people need to know: Nature is God, is all around us, we only have to close our eyes and feel it.

  • @MaIcoImZieI I'd have to disagree with that (and so would Tolkien by the way).

  • this guys is a genius like if you agree

  • @evilltorb yes Toikien is 1 of a kind. He will be missed!

  • Morrdorr. I love this guy.

  • sooo cool the way he says "mordor"

  • I just felt I needed to share this story.

When the movies came out back in 2004 I was in the second grade. I went to use the bathroom one day in class and as I began my approach to the faucet; the ring of power laid perfectly next to it. I thought I was dreaming instantaneously, then realized it was indeed the ring of power within my gaze (obviously an prop...right?) I knew it was not right to take that which is not mine...but the ring of power is known for bending the wills of men. I took it.

  • @FLteenm1a1 You must bring it to Mount Toilet, and cast it into the transparent cool magma. Cast it into the fires! DESTROY IT!
