  • I love to hear all the different versions of this song and how people interpret it in their own special way.....its so easy to play yet can be so evocative at the same time.

  • Sweet.

  • thank you.Sincerely.

  • Damn, I just fell in love with a guitar.

  • you are AWESOME! :)

  • Yaay a left hander like me.BTW this song really made me feel lonely.

  • this song was send from humans into space far far space with voyager 1

to express the feeling of loneliness to whatever may finds it... if "it" has the tech to play a gold plated record (it was send up there... or out there in 1977 they couldn't just put an MP3 player in there)

    greetings from Vsauce ^^

    and awesome skills bob

  • It sounds like you r playing a sitar at first. BTW which colony you from?

  • Closest version i've seen yet.

  • That really does have a pretty sound.

  • the music is good the only point is that you to dye on it u_u

  • Hi Bob! Man you have some really great stuff! I am really enjoying it!! Gold!! Joey Vaughan "World Blues Attack" and Ashley

  • Can't see why 6 people dislike this. Good job there!

  • My friend, you got the soul! You're better than more than half of the guitarists that appear at Crossroads!

  • beautiful and very moving

  • Awesome sound. That song and the way you play it gives me goose bumps. Great job playing a song by what I consider one of the a very underappreciated man.

  • Breathtaking, great sustain and feeling, lacking in the humming of a black american slave, but still loved it

  • Bravo

  • excellent!

  • Beatiful....and Haunting! You, sir, are a blues man!!

  • Bob, your version is the best so far!

    Enjoying it tremendously!

    Joe

  • Bob, your version is the best so far!

    Enjoying it tremendously!

    Joe

  • Watching you play this really helped me learn the song. Thanks!

  • Very nice guitar, sir.

    well played.

  • This never gets old.

  • Amen

  • One of my favourite blues song ever.

I discovered blind willie johnson when i was a kid, and this is absolutely the song that most rappresent the soul of blues as i feel.

Very nice interpretation. You got the soul blues.

    respect.

  • I came to the video thinking it wasn't gonna be that great becase it is after all Blind Willie Johnson you're covering, but I'm honestly touched by the depth and soul in the playing. I really enjoyed it, thank you.

  • Very nice!

  • I could listen to this a thousand times and it would never get old.

  • so good, gave me the super chills

  • Great ! Brit tricone resonator, brit and lefty player, you should be proud!

No kidding no more ! My admiration (from a 240 lbs "little frenchie" !

Hold it tight, i see som other guitars on your backside wall !

    Mickey.

  • that is really cool ! you can really play slide !

  • nice man

  • Wow, I could hear the love you have for that song in your sound. Beautiful guitar, beautiful work, beautiful recoding. Thanks for posting that. I recently bought the CD of Blind Willie Johnson after having a tape recording of it lost for years. It is so raw. You all did supream justice to it. My only request is that you do a remake with the moans. Obviously if you could play that so beautfiully, you have some serious blues inside. Let it loose vocally and let us hear it.

    Peace

  • watched it all, love it man.

  • Incredible sound!!!

  • beautiful

  • MAn, you played with your soul for this! Thx..

sorry for my english, im italian! :D

  • Stunning. Wonderful. It SINGS.

  • Doc ; says Cool!!

  • Amazing ! What guitar is that ?

  • Really amazing! Keep 'em coming

  • Awesome...I'm curious is the little sunburst a Gibson? any idea what model?

    Thanks

I used to have one but unfortunatly i never got to play it....:(

  • what tuning?

  • Open D

  • from one lefty to another , very nice job. wish I was that good.

  • not a bad try at the tune imo. I dont think there is a harder tune to cover in history, the slide work on the original makes fredmcdowell look like his just learned to slide lol. god moves on the water is also a blind willie favourite of mine but i think DWTNCWTF is the best.

  • fantastic

  • Hey, amazing sound!!!! What was the tune????

    Thaks!!!

  • What kind of resonator is that? The sound is awesome.

  • woahhhhhhh, that guitar is ringing!!!!!!!

i need me one like that!!!

    BRAVO!!!!

  • What an amazing song. Sounds like this one should be played in an open windowed bar with gators snap'n out back. 10 !!!

  • Damn fine picking My favorite slide blues songs. 5 star on this bad boy.

    what is it !

  • Hi Mark, the guitar is a Delta, made in the UK by John Alderson.

  • @bradleykrantz looks and sounds like a dobro or some variation

  • good job,

    sound like paris-texas ;)

  • Ry Cooder go the idea for Paris Texas from this tune. It's well documented by him.

  • Takes a lot to capture some of the original's power; this gets as close as anybody's ever going to come. Wonderful.

  • That was absolutely beautiful

  • It's funny, you can learn the basic positions for this melody in 5 mins. To make it listenable for 5:30 and not even do the moan is remarkable. It's the subtleties man. I've added this vid to my fav's Mr. Bob Heaton. Good job!

  • Great guitar , Great song ,Great playin´

  • awesome!

  • looks like one of john aldertons amazing guitars

  • beutiful peace to all the left handeds !

  • Quite simply beautiful Bob.

  • Great playing, Bob

  • How do you get that enormous sustain? I don't see any mic in the video or pick-ups...and great touch ese...wipe my tears on this one.

  • Hi Chuck, the sustain is mainly down the tri-cone guitar and I attack the strings pretty hard too,my little Kodak digicamera bearly captures the real sound through its tiny pin prick mike, wish I had something better then you'd really hear it sing.

  • Amazing! Made the skin on the back of my neck stand up! Just like the original does. Great job!

    Darryl Chafe
