Also, when they show the magma spreading, it starts in the Pacific and stops at Florida's east coast. Even though the magma would have to stop in Greece. This could have happened several times in the eons of the past if not for the moon. It is way outsized for the size of our planet and its way closer in its orbit for a reason. The moon's gravity deflects objects like this either away from Earth or into the moon, which has absorbed many such impacts before.

Instead things like emmisions of radiation and EMR into space and the rupture of the surface (crust)are the likely outcomes.
