  • All the Seiko bashers are probably from the US and I too thought of them as generic, cheaper Japanese quartz watches. However, in Asia they are really popular and seen as high quality timepieces and the GS line is no joke. There's a reason Seiko was eventually banned from the Swiss Chronometer competitions decades ago (hint, they were cleaning house and the Swiss didn't like it).

    Product Description

    Seiko Chronograph

Set the pace for style with this rugged, masculine stainless steel chronograph timepiece from Seiko. It features a silvery white dial background with three chronograph subdials (with red hands) and tachymeter markings around the outer circumference. The chronograph can measure up to 60 minutes in 1\5-second increments, and ...

  • Hell of a fast balance! Must be well over 28,000 BPH Real accuracy.

  • sooner or later they all break, but my 7.00 timex from 1967 is going better than my breitling chrono 500.00 to overhaul it ,the timex never needed anything sits for years ,now i wind it regularly, its insane ,what the hell was timex doing in the 60,s, the same with a 17 jewel seiko chrono from the 80,s, the thing won't die, all my new seikos, capaciter replacement ,and no jewel quartz"s ,DEAD after 10 years ,i think the 60"s had something, even the cars.

  • @chefluigi100 They made things to last in those days

  • Wow Nice Watch !! Had Some Like This But Sold Out Qucik. Very Populer Item In Store

  • damn man i just watched as a one minute and 45 seconds of my life went by

    hahhah

but a great watch you have there

  • Nice watch. I own Rolex, Tag, and Omega and would gladly fork out the money for one of these. It's not about the name it's about the innovation and movement. +1, -1 sec/day accuracy is amazing and surpasses COSC standards for any doubters.

  • @hendog323 I proudly own a Seiko Ananta Spring Drive GMT and several swiss watches, but I can tell you that the accuracy is absolutely mind blowing. It was running for 3 months before I got tempted to play around with it and it had only lost 1 second. Absolutely out of this world !!

  • @italomagic1 No doubt it's an awesome watch. It's on my list of watches that I want. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find an authorized dealer that carries one in my area so I can try it on...

  • Beautiful watch,Seiko makes some great timepieces.

  • Gawd that seconds movement is so sweet!

36,000 BPH (beats per hour) I think?

  • @fullmetaljacket30

Look up a video of a 36k BPH movement from like tag or Zenith and you will notice the spring drive is a lot smother. The reason for this is the spring drive has no traditional escapement thus due to design it will not "tick" hence the second hand has a smooth (non-ticking) motion.

  • @Bandraa1

    Yes you are absolutely right.

Now what about the Spring Drive compared to the Electronic Watches of the 60's-70's??? Check out the Omega Speedsonic F300 on Youtube. I don't think there is a discernible difference. Spring Drive is 10x prettier :)

  • @Bandraa1 to put it simply, it just glides :)

  • Superb watch... Only downside is the SEIKO logo on top. Why not replace it with Grand Seiko which appears on bottom? Why use both logos?

  • This watch to me is like the lexus LFA, no matter how amazing it is (which this watch is clearly an absolute masterpiece of engineering) At the end of the day you still have a Seiko. Can you imagine trying to justify the cost of this watch to someone? Its tragic but thats the mentality we are faced with. Just curious, whats the retail on this thing?

  • @Asherr6

Retail is probably in the $8000 USD range.

  • @Bandraa1

    8000$ for a seiko. That's like a million dollars for a hyundai.

Seikos are beaters, and not a japanophile in the world could convince me otherwise.

  • @foxgloves321 Your knowledge of fine timepieces is obviously lacking.

  • @sfcx92 I'm not saying that the movement isn't accurate or that it isn't well made, I'm simply saying that you have to be an idiot to spend more than 300 dollars on a seiko

  • @foxgloves321 I understand your point. Mine is that many collectors with very respectable collections are proud to rotate in one of these every so often. The rarity alone (aside from the magnificent attention to detail present throughout) makes it an obvious choice for the watch connoisseur. If some cat who doesn't have the understanding to see that it's exceptional thinks I'm an idiot, the joke is truly on them.

  • @foxgloves321 haha so true 8000$ just buy a swiss watch.

  • How could anyone dislike this mix of engeneering, art and perfection?

  • Please, people, educating the babarians left the world in its current state, leave them be. After all, we'd already armed most illiterates with small arms arsenals; the last thing we wanted to see on them is one of these nice machines on their wrists.

( I saw a green dial one a while back, Absolutely lovely! )

  • Make no mistake : SEIKO Spring Drive is the best watch today in entire world...even ahead of OMEGA's Speedmaster...

  • nice!!!!!!!!!

  • Where can I get an authentic one in the usa? Would I have to fly to japan? Grand sekio is not sold in the usa i belive

  • good video, good watch

  • my god! where did you get yours?!!! grand seikos with a spring drive movement are like the most exclusive watch's on the entire market!!, they keep better time than swiss watches, they gain or lose 5 seconds in an entire YEAR!!!!!

  • someone please send me this watch. i will stare at it for a day and then give it back ...:)

  • @waterinawell : LOL. You are so funny. =D

  • @waterinawell lol :))

  • gran grand seiko! increible la tecnologia sring drive es totalmente suave y uniforme. sorprendente!

  • Most intricate movement in watch history which also happens to produce the smoothest second hand sweep in watch history.

  • oh yeah!

  • This thin has a better movement than any swiss made out there including the Rolex and Patek... Sad but true...

  • James Hetfield rules!

  • @avsararas why sad,. lol :))

  • stunning watch - love seiko's - but as a diver would say shame they dont make a spring drive chrono WITH illuminous hands and indices for diving!

  • sieko vs citizen Which brand is better ?

  • come on, it's not about brands... it's a matter of taste, since both are awesome watch makers.

  • HOW DOES THIS WATCH COST?

  • But if your computer is slow and laggy, the second hand just keeps stopping and starting!!!

Beautiful watch, seriously want to own one osme day.

  • A masterpiece this GS!! By the way, how dare someone could compare an Invicta (usually junk) to a Seiko. Seiko is one of the great watch brands around the world, while Invicta is just a Marketing brand that outsources its watches to factories in China and Korea. Not that all Chinese watches are bad of course , but they can't compare in any way to Seiko, Orient, citizen or any respected swiss brand.

  • waow! its.. its moving! amazing!

  • Incredible!

  • What does the higher left sircle that says "Spring Drive" indicate?

  • That's actually the second hand. The larger hand is actually a stop watch. Notice every time the larger hand sweeps across 12 the top right needle moves one minute down. I don't know how to explain things properly but hope this helped.

  • yeah i understand

    8)

  • to expensive shit

  • So smooth!

  • So you think an Invicta or Swatch watch is more valuable than your average Seiko? What a joke. Do some research about the Spring Drive before you go shooting your mouth off. The Spring Drive is the most innovative and advanced watch movement to come along in recent memory. These watches are very valuable because they are the 1st generation of watches to carry this movement. Try trading all of your "valuable swiss" pieces for just one Seiko Spring Drive to a jeweler. He'll laugh in your face.

  • how much is this watch?

  • you dont know shit about watches

  • @maddox52

    lol, what?

  • @SimplyJ888 The most expensive Grand Seiko Spring Drive costs 10000-12000US$. The most expensive Seiko(Credor JURI) costs 500000$! You'd have to sell many Patek Philippes to buy that watch :D

  • @wrc11101 The most expensive Patek cost 1.4 million so you can get almost 3 for one Patek.

  • Try using punctuation and proper grammar if you want people to trust what you write.

  • if i have many many money and got no rolex, i will buy one.

  • I wanted to get one of these until I googled the price....holy mother of shitballs!

  • how much does the watch costs?

  • dude it's about $6000-$7000 if i remember correctly.

  • ... which I want

  • how mouch is it

  • around USD7100.

  • crazy price, insane!

  • Where can I get one of these?

  • Amazing! The second hand runs so smoothly. Is that a great virtue of this watch? My quartz watch's second hand jumps second by second.

  • The smoother the sweep, the higher the quality.

  • Ya (EYES ROLL). Because you know there arent any fake Rolex's out there that dont sweet the same way. Or a cheepy INVICTA with an ETA movement.

  • Beautiful.

  • This watch is a master piece. I will own a Grand Seiko some day in my life!

  • chronometer?

  • I don't think so. Very good question though. I would think to save costs, they wouldn't send every watch in to get tested.

  • Any watch that carries a "Grand Seiko" name is regulated to a Grand Seiko standard, which is actually stricter than the Swiss "Chronometer" (COSC). If I remember correctly, the COSC is +6/-4 sec/day in 5 positions, while the GS is +5/-3 sec/day in 6 positions. Seiko's Spring Drive line is even more accurate.

  • @stfoo Spring Drives are guaranteed to be within 15 seconds a MONTH. I have several friends with them, and the real performance is well under 10 seconds a month. A couple are under 5 seconds a month. There's no comparison.

  • man kind has created a new arm of watches, the grammaton spring drive

  • Is that a little red GMT hand that I see on the dial?

  • yes! That's the GMT hand.

  • @seikocollector

    What is GMT hand???

  • Yeah, it's only $7000.00 USD ;-)

  • Are you kidding? thats how much a Breitling Chrono Avenger costs, Not that I'm saying that Breitling is better than Seiko

  • Seiko makes good watches. They are very under-rated. Watches like Rolex and Breitling are over rated although heir time pieces are beautiful. Seiko is just as capable of making prestigious watches like Rolex and Breitling. If you check out their Credor brand that's one expensive "seiko" underneath.

  • Is like TOyota: they make the Yaris and they make Lexus 450...

  • @nexstar00 is like japanese: they make the origami and they make the harakiri :o\

  • damn beautiful. drool..drool..

  • i want one now!

  • Very awesome!
