this is when you could put the tv on and really enjoy a heart felt family show if he wasnt busted for cocaine use he would have been on for a few more years
Does anyone remember a movie about a boy who ran away from home to live in the wilderness. When winter came he lived in a hollowed out tree.movie was shown in the 70ies
This show reminds of a bad PBS tv show--but after i watch his next 5 shows i came to respect ol' Adams I a man that can get naked with grissly bear cunfushish says one must respect the mortal man who gets naked a 700 grisly bear.
when i want to be entertained now i have resorted to just watching shows from the 70's and 80's on youtube .. there is literally nothing on nowadays..
Dan Haggerty is the only person to have his star REMOVED from the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It was actually meant to honor another actor, the late Don Haggerty, and the committee made an error in spelling. Eventually Dan received a legitimate star, now located in front of Grauman's Chinese Theatre.
Good point guys, All this modern technnology has turned everybody into robots.. What happened to the good old days when people appreciated the simple things in life.. I remeber watching this show when I was a young child back in the 70`s and my mother would be knitting a blanket on the couch.. Wow, How times have changed, Those days are gone forever
I loved this show so much and this VHS quality makes it even more loveable. No high def, what for on a show like this. I say, good old times. Seems like I am getting old...
What kind of garbage is that? If he has time to casually WALK out of town, then he has time to pack up the family and take them with him. Saw this as a kid but never the pilot. This changes the whole story to deadbeat dad. Too bad.
Thank you very much Ladbrokesmafia! Incredible and beautiful first ten minutes of the legendary Grizzly Adams... My heroe, the heroe of my childhood! Great moment of television! I'll love forever this magical serie! Thanks! :)
I Loved the show growing up. I work in tv production now and had a shoot that Dan Haggerty was a part of. Great guy just as peaceful as you would imagine. tragically his wife was killed two months later in a motorcycle accident hitting I believe a deer. I would love to see a remake of this movie, kids and adults today really need it. Makes me miss my childhood in NH. I think Brad Pitt and Anthony Hopkins would be incredible in these rolls.
@mythic89 Do your HOMEWORK! ... As much as I loved this show, James "Grizzly" Adams was NOT the great "person" that the show made him out to be! ... He went bankrupt and headed for the hills, leaving his wife and kids to fend for themselves. ... He so-called "befriended" a bear cub. That bear later died in a freaking zoo! ... Born free, but died a captive. ... I did a search on this and that's how I know.
Wow been years since I seen this show, couldnt find it anywhere..Sadly this is correctly called Grizzly Adams and was a cinematic movie, but its been so long not sure if they aired it as the pilot as well. At any rate still great.
The series was called "The Life And Times Of Grizzly Adams" where the movie was just "Grizzly Adams"
THank you for this post... Like everyone else here it seems this video brings back some excellent memories. I loved this show as a child and wish my nieces and nephews could / would enjoy and experience this type or way of life. 5 weeks til I go hiking in the Appalachians. I soo can't wait. :)

having so much diversion. ;) Sh.... sad we don't have

howd they get the animals to get that close to him?
fanboyforrongo 1 year ago
@fanboyforrongo Even back in the 70's, hollywood had a whole zoo full of trained animals. -Notice how they all have nice clean shiny coats?
What amazes me is how they got that many animals to such a remote location to film. Must have cost quite a bit back then.
