The point of Snooker is to pot the balls in the pockets. I would have thought that was obvious from the video...

@pie365 15 reds, then 6 coloured balls each with different point values... reds are worth 1, yellow 2 green 3 brown 4 blue 5 pink 6 black 7, you have to pot balls alternating red/coloured/red/coloured and soon as all the reds are gone you have to pocket colours in the order yellow/green/brown/blue/pink/b­lack. Player with most points at the end of a frame wins that frame.

It's called throw. It's very hard to do. It uses the english of the cue ball to slightly throw the ball. If you watch him he puts right english on the cue ball to throw the object ball slightly.

What a fantastic maximum. Lots of tricky pots and as the pressure builds you can feel Carter's heart beat faster and faster. Another great moment in crucible snooker and an even greater highlight in his career. As everyone knows Ronnie eventually beat him in the final but Carter is, in my opinion, still one of the best. Let's hope we see him next year.

This break remineded me of Stephen Hendry's 147s as he is known for them as "a Magician". Ali's 147 is equally important and he did it in tremendous pressure.  An 'inch perfect' maximum.

My brother used to play with him in the Witham league, Essex many moons ago and so we are even more supportive.
