@derfzus Rock and Roll Hall of Fame suck! Like everything American. How did rock music museum found itself in a country that is not the faintest idea about the rock? Let the will occupy a country and blues rock would give the British.
@JTAqualung Are you suggesting American rock giants like Kiss, Poison, Motley Crue and Bon Jovi aren't just as wonderful as Tull, Stones, Genesis, Beatles, Deep Purple or Pink Floyd?
its not head banging . its classic rock and roll at its finest . head bangers i am sure heard it . after all one must have influences . this tune from Tull ROCKS!!!
Can someone tell me who sings and who's the author of intro with female duo? Is that their composition or they picked it from somewhere? BTW great song when it starts to drum makes me wanna jump lol.
@TheMarinerX Ian Anderson : lead vocal and flute and genius of Jethro Tull. Sorry, no females. Regret the generations who won't get to see them in live concert. Anderson and the boys came on stage after the opening group and just acted like roadies setting up the stage. They were all dressed in same trench-coat and while the lights were still up and the crowd still "stretching", Anderson casually takes center stage, calmly reaches into his coat pocket and whips out the flute. lights out, ROCK!
Ian is a genius-he basically said in this song-oh, you think we're just a band that does nice British folksy tunes-well, how about that stuff mixed with an overdrive, kick-ass, hard rock song? I love it.
Im 24 now, and lucky to have grown up in a Family with a good taste for Music, my dad being a musician Himself and my mom a multi-faceted lover of good music in general. I had not the Luck of being good at any instrument, but still share the love for artists like Tull, Zeppelin, Queen, Pink Floyd etc... Just recently learned about King Crimson :) I think great art like this will stay in peoples minds like Mozart and Beethoven do. I do so hope it!
this seems to be the version from Repeat which cuts the song in half. both parts of the song are equally awesome in my opinion but you really need the intro to build up to this part
dude... so much.... you got your woodstock in '69. you got your prog, your punk, your funk/motown a little beatles and john lennon's solo career. the who in their prime... just the best decade for music hands down i think.
Answer 1: They did and they ended up being the greatest fucking band of all time. Go figure.
Answer 2: Basically it was one name they chose out of a string of goofy names so they could keep coming back to the same club when they were starting out. I guess it was the one that stuck.
Completely, totally, absolutely ruined by that fucking awful remix, horrible, synthetic drum sound!

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will never be valid until Tull is inducted. They were probably the most innovative, original band in rock!!
