Well, the reason for main reason for the invasion was they suspected Saddam of having illegally acquired weapons of mass destruction, which were never found, but chemical weapons were found. Also of Saddam harboring al-Qaeda terrorists, Iraq's financial support to families of Palestinian suicide bombers, and human-rights abuses. After Saddam's regime was toppled yes they want to install democracy government, and help to stabilize the country and they stay there until it can be ok on it's own.
For anyone saying it's all about oil, it's possible, but there is absolutely 0 proof of that. If we are getting a bunch of oil there they sure are good at being secretive about it, Iraqi government nor any Iraqi official has ever made any claim US is stealing its oil.

Iraq. Afganistan. Vietnam. For the most part, most of the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines are happy as HELL to go fight for the simple freedoms that YOU take for granted. I am a US Army Soldier, served in Iraq... Attention to Detail - you mispelled REMEMBER. Makes me sick. You want to give tribute to soldiers, at least learn to spell! Can you even spell SOLDIER????? US Armed Forces are ALL ready, for whatever you can't handle, for those things that you can't even imagine.
