Sorry if this comment is a Wall of text, I need some help. So i have followed this instructional video down to the last part aside from 1 thing. The Audio cords. I use turtle beach headsets so I cannot take my audio cords from my tv(unless you can explain how i am not sure how i can keep them working.) But otherwise, I follow this guide all the way but I still come up with a black screen and my screen saying "HDMI NO SIGNAL" then goes black. Any ideas on how to solve this? I cant figure it out?

This is not for you. This is for ORIGINAL Xbox 360s that did not come with HDMI when it was first released as stated in description and video. You can either play with VGA or get a HDMI to DVI cable (HDMI on one end and DVI on the other). However, with HDMI to DVI, you will not get sound as DVI does not transmit sound. So you will need external speakers.

I had the same exact thing, I was using a analog to VGA converter but the picture wasnt too great then I realized HDMI can convert to DVI with just a simple $10 cable I bought off eBay. The audio you need to get the xbox audio adapter so the hdmi plug and the analog plug both fit run the hdmi to dvi cable to the monitor and the audio to your computer speakers. My picture quality is 20 times better now.

@Sleeky10x HDMI is intended to transfer both video and audio signal in digital quality (i.e. idealy no noise shall mix with the signal, and if it does, it affects output differently). There are several versions (generations) of HDMI already, as usual. That one that Xbox360 uses might be able to transfer up to 1080p or 1080i (although somewhere is stated that console has just 1080i output, I dunno) video signal and 5.1 audio.

P stands for Progressive. Most 360 games are not 1080P, they are at 720P, sometimes a bit less, and then upscaled to fit 1080P. They might look a bit better upscaled, they might not. Some PS3 games can upscale to 1080P too.

This is not a waste of money if you want 1080p on a 1080p hdtv that only has hdmi inputs and NO VGA. Component is not capable of 1080p but VGA is.

Yes, if you plug in HDMI cable only there will be audio as HDMI transmit audio. Video whos red/white cable ONLY because it is using DVI/HDMI cable. DVI does not transmit audio.

It outputs sound if you connect HDMI cable and have speakers on your TV/monitor. If you connect DVI to HDMI, it will not. DVI does not transmit sound and you will need to connect external speakers.

Quality difference between HDMI and Component is very questionable. HDMI has no loss in picture quality (because it's digital) that's all and assuming you don't have shit component cables and no interference the difference between component and HDMI is negligible.

If you learn to read, this is for the 1st generation Xbox 360. 1st generation as in when it was first released. When the Xbox 360 launched, it had no HDMI. Microsoft added HDMI port to the 360 around the same time when the PS3 launched.

Yes you can get 1080p or 1080i. All depends on what your HDTV is capable of displaying. If your TV can only do 1080i, that is all it will give.
