@0402gavin I would think they would work great in a Glock 19. Most Glocks will eat anything but you may want to try a box before you buy in bulk to make sure it feeds well.
@112Sverige112 I have thought about it a few times but other than being fun to shoot I don't think I would carry one or use it for defense. I cannot comment from personal experience since I have not shot an original Luger design, but from what I understand they are finicky about feeding ammo.
@jmkpnsI would say try a box with your particular gun before you make a blanket decision like that. I can say that some types of 147 gr are a bit longer than lesser weights. However, the specifications for a cartridge are an industry standard. The overall length of a loaded round has a maximum and minimum. Every gun is supposed to fit a round that falls in that specification.
@Watcher3223, yup, mine too. out of the longer barrel the +p isn't necessary and only causes extra muzzle flip and recoil. How often do you recycle your carry ammo with fresh cartridges?
@Watcher3223, yeah, im guilt of that too! I just worry about the CLP fouling the primers thou i always wipe down the breech face and in the firing pin hole. Hurts buying expensive self defence ammo over and over again.
dumb question but how do you know if a gun is capable of shooting +P ammo. I have an LCP that explicitly says not to use +P, but I also got a SR9c that doesnt say not to.. But then again I have an LCR that says you can shoot +P .. Too much of a gray area.. I know a few rounds wont destroy it but Id like to put a good # of rounds through it to make sure they feed ok.
@p20 All you can do is check with the manufacturer of the gun and follow their recommendations. Personally I think most modern guns are much stronger than older ones. As long as it was made relatively recently (last 25 years or so) you will likely be ok with a limited amount of +P. The difference in pressure is not that much in absolute numbers.
@p20 I've looked at the Ruger website for the +P question you have, because I'm interested in the Ruger SR9c. Your SR9c can handle all +p or +p+ ammo. Just remember, +p ammo is harsher on your weapon. +p loads aren't for casual plinking.
Please test a 357 sig. I have 125 gr gold dots ant the bullet is very different. The hollow cavity is very shallow. like a perfect 45 degree concave cone. I am very curious to see how they compare
I have seen the bullet you are talking about. Unfortunately, I don't have any guns chambered for .357 SIG. I did have a SIG P229 in .357 SIG not long after the round came out, but I sold it because it was so hard to find ammo for. If I come across someone that will let me borrow one, i'll try and test it for you.
While the GD shown here is a traditional copper jacket and lead core, the CorBon DPX load is all copper. Using a solid copper slug eliminates core jacket separation and allows the projectile to stay together for a deeper wound. Since lead is heavier than copper, the copper slugs are longer for their weight. Generally, that uses up some case capacity so there is less room for propellant. There are pros and cons to each design. I think the DPX is a great bullet with consistent expansion.
Thanks for posting this, I carry GDHP 124 +P and I've been really curious about the actual expansion I might get. I've so wanted to try them out in water but the only water i have available is the swimming pool at my apartment complex and I think that might draw a bit too attention...
HAHAHA, that would be funny... yeah I think that would be kind of loud for an apartment complex. We will be doing more testing in a few weeks. I have some new loads to test too.
Thanks for all of your vids. I've jug and wetpack tested those and always get consistent results. Great round! Like a lot of ammo, they're hard to come by in Georgia right now and I'm running out. Any chance you'll try the short barrel version in the near future? I haven't been able to find them.
those are some scarily nice expansions.

@0402gavin I checked our sponsers site (bulkammo) and did not see it. You might try luckyammo or ammuntiontogo.

these will have no problem firing through a glock 19 right?

Would this be a good choice for a Springfield XD9? I'm looking for a defensive round and I'm new to aaalllll of this. :-/

@TheSacredKier This is a great round and should work fine in a Springfield XD9.

@TheSacredKier Try ammunitiontogo.

@TheSacredKier This is what I carry in my XD9. +P and bonded should serve you well.

@hotimportguy This is exactly what I carry in my XD9 as well (except when I'm plinking of course). I'm still new to guns but I swear by these rounds.

Everyone tells me not to ever buy a 147 grain 9mm because they can jam in a magazine.

@jmkpns Comparing a FMJ RUAG 9mm 124gr and a GDHP 9mm 147gr right now...and OL is longer for the lighter of the two. By quite a bit

This is, more or less, my defensive load in my 92FS, but standard charge instead of +P.

@robs104
Not often enough, though bullets aren't entirely perishable and I don't repeatedly chamber them and load them back into the magazine.
