So... When I played this part, quite funny actually. My whole squadron got annihilated by Grunts, just at the beginning. So I had to rush with the Colonel and the ambulance.

Why is the colonel like 2 feet taller than his troops?

@xxmatt1697 I guess it's to help the player instantly recognize the hero from the main troops otherwise you'd be placing a cursor over everyone just to identify him

@Reephamike the lost one placed it nearly infront of where my troops were and the only time i noticed was when i saw the huge sign saying Mission Failed. >:D

the fact behind that is the programmers set it so you couldnt blow any of its hardpoints even if its down to 1% cause if you did that wouldnt be that much cop for Novus to turn up.

Why are the troops disappearing sometimes?

Its the close proximity of the object to the camera. The closer an object is to the camera, the more they fade so that you can still get a clear view of the battlefield.
