Is it just me, or does this whole cartoon short resemble the plot of The Rocketeer? I mean, come on. The club that the blot was hiding out in, it's just like the South Seas Club in The Rocketeer! And the blimp and how mickey falls off but leaps right back on, it's just like the scene where The Rocketeer is thrown of the side of the Nazi blimp and then uses his jet pack to hop back on! Any hardcore Disney fan will know what I'm talking about...

@trollheimer: actually, if you've beaten the game, you'll know that the "shadow" blot is just a super powerful blotling. Oswald kept the main blot locked away in the jug, the "phantom" blot.

Theyre not the same creature, considering the epic Mickey phantom blot scares the shit outta me and this one seems to be kind of a pussy. They just have the same name.

Since you're all so obsessed with the new Epic Mickey game (as you should be), I'd just like to go ahead and throw this out there: the Blot in Epic Mickey isn't the Blot you see in this video. This is the Phantom Blot and he appeared in Mickey Mouse comics and House of Mouse shorts while the Blot in Epic Mickey is called the SHADOW Blot and has a different origin story.

The game is probably going to be it's own separate story, in it's own separate Disney universe.

Phantom Blot is one of those characters that was originally created for comics. He appeared in Mickey Mouse comic strips and later comic books. Scrooge McDuck is another one of those characters originally from the comics.

the phantom blot! my favorite disney villain, I'd love to see him in a big movie once... as evil as the villains were in the old disney movies (Like Scar, Frollo, Jafar, etc)... all the villains in the newer disney movies aren't as evil. In the old movies they actually killed! Phantom Blot should be portrayed as willing to kill as well (but indirectly cause according to the comics the Blot cant stand watch someone dying... because of his weak heart :p)

Gottfredson himself let Mickey unmask the Blot in the end of his story, probably thinking that the character woudn't be used again. And to my knowledge, the Blot didn't reappear before the 50s in some Italian stories by Guido Martana and Romana Scarpa, before getting revived in the US in the mid-60s.
