  • 100% badass! very cool

  • these are very expensive

  • @samuelANTHEA Very true

  • i noticed the name, protobothrops, what is the relation, if any, to bothrops atrox?

  • @countryboy8831 'Proto' means first, so one can say (perhaps, without pissing off evolutionary biologists) the Protobothrops are a more primative form of Bothrops line.

  • my name is in the title... SHANE!!

  • this sanke is almost extinct so thumbs up if u want to help there species

  • very beautiful viper

  • That is the most beautiful snake I've ever seen.

  • wow, this type is hot. i watched some documentary about her. even the baby one can make you lose your arm. brother you'd better be very careful of her.

  • I know they can do both, but do they mainly bite, or spray venom?

  • @dooksucks4ever bite

  • how many snakes do u have

  • so beautiful but so deadly at the same time.

  • wow vk that the shorts vid of urs ive seen

  • looks like its covered in algae

  • I believe Zhaoermia is obsolete, the correct genus is Protobothrops

  • @highflyin3484k I believe that's what it say's above...

  • Really beautiful snake

  • Just out of curiosity, what did you pay for him,if you dont mind me asking.Im just curios if they cost more than Fea's Viper,As I understand it,they are extreemly rare and harder to get than Fea's More power to you.

  • Al, do you still have these?

  • @MintyModF1 Sold this one since at the time, no females were available.

  • I have read that they may spit venom, but it was written like it could be speculation, is it true? If so, that is likely to increase the difficulty substantially.

  • @logicaquebrada85 They don't spit in the true sense. If pissed off they hiss forcefully and eject venom into the air stream, which mists the venom and propels it.

  • that snake is beautiful, especially with the white caudal lure

  • only true snake lovers can really call this most gruesome, morbid and very deadly looking snake beautiful. more power to you guys but i hope i will never come across one in the wild.

  • is tht green snake venomus and ive never seen one of these before

  • @MarkieBhoy17 Yes

  • @viperkeeper is it really how come he didnt try to strick

  • All I can say is...He's beautiful!

  • Incredible. How difficult are these guys to keep? I understand they're quite pricey due to scarcity but do they do well in captivity?

  • @rudukai13 Advanced keepers only

  • @viperkeeper In your experience, after a keeper has had plenty of experience with non-venomous and working with an experienced hot keeper, what would you suggest as a beginner hot?

  • @rudukai13 I never make such a suggestion.

  • wow, beautiful snake. the color are very nice.

  • Wow! SO pretty!

  • Now that is what horror movies should have in them. Such a beautiful but ominous and prehistoric looking beauty that one is!

  • bring back mr mang!

  • BEAUTIFUL!!! wow look at that color and pattern.

  • thats my favorite species of hots if i ever get into keeping hots thats the species i want.

  • Wow! This guy is beautiful! I love your videos and your knowledge on venomous snakes. It's very fascinating to watch you care for them like you do. I believe you said that you sent this specific snake off to a breeding facility? Will you actually get him/her back one day (if you already haven't)? I'd love to see an update of him if it's possible. Also, on your Gaboon Vipers as well. LOVE gabbies :)

    Lea

  • VK, I havent noticed any other videos on this guy. Is he gone from the collection? Would love to see more. -Rainier

  • I sent him off for breeding but nothing happened, so he's still with the female.

  • What a paint job !

  • That's really pretty! I like those colors!

  • it looks so prehistoric.

  • I'm looking to get one of those sometime but they are SOO expensive.

  • Did it spit while it was visiting?

  • No, not at all

  • I have a friebd that has a pair of these babies, and they are really beautiful up close.

  • in ur collection or was just stopping by?

  • Just a visitor

  • im guessing the a/v cost alot or its a really rare snake or u would have one

  • No one is really sure which A/V to use.

  • that could be a problem lol

  • Common problem...

  • This one almost looks like it wearing army camouflage. As a wild guess does it inhabit areas where it's leafy green and moss covered?

  • let me quote kid rock... "SO HOTT!!!" man what a beauty!

  • sweet snake

  • You should try to wear sunglasses when you handle the Mangshan just in case it actually spits. Many other vipers have been reported to at least "fling" their venom in a short spray so perhaps it can spit.

  • nice snake!could you tell what snake is it?

  • Mt. Mangshan Pit Viper

  • This species reminds me of Oscar the Grouch

  • absolutely stunning!

  • now that is a beautiful snake

  • Awesome snake. I like your dwarf bitis pretty much too. Does your Zhaoermia mangshanensis spits venom sometimes? I must say all your videos are very interesting. Thanks to share them!

  • I try not to stress them to find out if they spit venom or not.

  • lmao!

  • I just wanted to say that I believe your work to be very noble. Thanks for bring the these fantastic videos to share with the public.

    I also have specific questions:

Are you currently breeding the Mangsha and have you had success with them?

How are the Mangsha in terms of feeding? Are they aggressive feeders?

Do these animals have slow metabolism like the temple vipers?

  • Thanks,

No, I'm not breeding Mangshan's, not enough speciemens available. The are good feeders and actually not as aggressive as told. They like it very cool compared to other snakes, so they do have a slower metabolic rate.

  • awesome video

  • Sure would be cool to get veterinary data on Zhaoermia. Do you know offhand if the ISIS database or any of the international zoos have blood chemistry normal values, pharmacokinetics or anything else on these guys?

  • The snake's not thrilled to see you, but there are worse stress induced behaviors than what we're seeing here. Of course we don't know how much of the lack of obvious stress behaviors could be due to stress induced metabolic acidosis (eg, "capture shock").
