@matrixlone it would be a pain in the ass to make a silent hill movie that was like the game. i mean think about it would you want to watch a movie with a guy walking around a town running into someone every now and then i know i wouldent. thats why they added all of those people in the first movie it was to add more to the story and lead the person and the person watching the movie.

@trebot9292266 it did feel like silent hill but they inputed some unecessary charcters and the plot involved a colemine and the horro was explain which made it lose its scaryness and thats a big mistake they made just like when judge dredd removed his mask in the movie it took alot of heat from the fans cause dredd never removes his helmet the new director isnt making a sequel which is great cause theres only 1 sequel and thats SH3

@matrixlone silent hill felt like what is this place and wth was that the movie dident give that feel and every game after the first one you play dident ether unless they added a new monster or somthing. silent hill 4 recaptured the feel in a way but not without taking away everything else about silent hill as well as silent hill but silent hill 4 was not really a silent hill game it was another game that was rewriten to be a silent hill.

@trebot9292266 personally i saw a game called winter on the wii that felt more like silent hill i liked shattered memories but to me silent hill needs japanese developers cause deadly premonition kinda felt like silent hill more than homecoming american horror and japanese horror are very different i think thats one of themain reasons why it feels different now and akira aint doing music for SH anymore they shoulda tried and get angelo badalamenti who did twin peaks and indigo prohpecy

@trebot9292266 silent hill 1 and 2 were the best. silent hill one had you wondering "WTH is this, how did that get there" y'know? silent hill did that too, only they added emotion to it, there was anger and sadness. it drove the game, made you want to keep playing. silent hill 3 and 4 didnt have that feel, nor was it as good. origins was an ok prequel, but didnt make much sense, plus it was too short.

And then at 2:05 you see some things that you shouldn't have done and you realize, that even though you are a good person, you have done some selfish things. This would have seemed more appropriate if instead of water and bubbles for the credits, you see James's body floating in Toluca Lake, camera angle pointed up at him from the bottom. He's not completely weighed down by water yet, but he isn't floating on the surface, and it looks like maybe he had tried to escape before it was too late, a common sign of many suicide victims.

Maybe he accepted his fate? Maybe his historic cowardice won out? Only James knows.

I think the movie was alright. It didn't hit me as scary on several levels like the first two games did, but it was an alright movie.

I do hope that the sequel actually relates to one of the early games. If its going to be a movie about Shattered Memories I'm going to scream, SM was pretty bad IMO.

To each their own. I think they did a good job on the movie considering what it could have been if Hollywood (like a major studio) had gotten hold of it. They had to appeal to people who hadn't played the game as well as those who have. I think, all things considered, the movie is good. It could've been better, but it also could've been a lot worse, had a love story, sex,explosions. It was true to the universe in a way a lot of other movies fail to be.
