Howaya. Any chance you can make a vid on how to play this? Got me banjo last October and could only learn one song so far. Need a good Irish tune to keep the lads happy! :) thanks
This probably wouldn't be a good choice to start out with: it is in a slightly odd tuning. I'd be happy to send you the tab if you send me a private note.
One tune that works really well in open G is "Nancy's Whiskey" which I think is widely done...
hey, im thinking about learning banjo soon, i play guitar now, and i was just wondering if you could get a tab for this on either for me, awesome vid btw
im barely irish (1/16th) so im no true authority of good irish/celtic music. but goddamn do i know an excellent musician when i hear one!!!!! exceptional work Andy! :)
Fantastic version! Can't stop listening to this as I'm just starting to experiment with double c tuning. I'm getting there slowly! Thanks for posting.
Thank you so much, that is very kind of you. It is an Arthur E Smith Shelburne II Internal Resonator banjo, made sometime around 1979. It is somewhat like some of the Bacon models from the turn of the century.
How did you get the thunder to hit at the right time? This is awesome. I just started playing clawhammer three months ago but if I could play this song like that I will die happy.

I'd be happy to send it to you. It is in an odd tuning, though. Send me a private note with your email and I'll send you the tab.

Awesome rendition of this song! I've been trying to learn this ever since I got my banjo. Is there any way you could post the chords?

The sound of this banjo is just fantastic! What model is it? And the singing and banjoplaying is also topclass!
