This is a new take on a very old concept (from the 50s or 60s I believe). There was a car that did that back then but never made it offically into production.

I have heard that a few times. We did some looking on the internet, and nothing came up. You have to realize that we are only twenty some years old, the 50's and 60's are something that even our parents don't remember. This was a quick design for a short deadline, I would say it was a good job done by inexperienced design students.
