  • is this how anderson silva tap out was from this move

  • quick,smooth,agile, this guys sick!

  • great technique. great art. great instructor. not so great camera angle. too close.

  • Very helpful video.

  • and you will fart too hahahaha

  • Good video, if you like martial arts, look for my flying submissions

  • Great stuff!

  • Awsome!

  • I wish I could learn Sambo so I could get better at leg locks. I went up against a Sambo guy at the last Naga tournament and it was like I was fighting a Judo guy cuz he kept trying to hip throw me. I didn't give him a chance to try his leg locks on me though. I knew better than that anyway, I won that match on points by the way.

  • @hexkwondo Nobody cares, go brag to your parents lol....

  • @slorunR1988 You must be nobody. And you care. How sweet....

  • Sambo has the best leg locks-period.

  • these are great techniques that can be used as a counter attack from a single leg too..

  • They could, couldn't they?

Oddly enough, that's probably the best YouTube comment I've ever read.

  • well Fedor will kick em all

  • That can be a goal for sure...not in sport obviously.

  • fascinating mover...i wish the camera wouldn't have zoomed in soo close. Would love to see a little bit more of the role from different angles.

  • @sambosteve He did it as a umping entry, but you gotta master this one first.

  • Sambo looks like a particularly vicious fighting technique! I'm definitely not an expert, but I think it's all about making the opponent fall on the floor and breaking a bone of his, right?

  • yeh, i think maybe in war. wasn't sambo originally created for the soviet army?

you should also check out aikido or judo, very cool defensive arts also

  • If you really wanna make yer opponent look bad I suggest tapping him out with the "Angle Lock" baby!

  • you can also pull this off when someone has a single leg on you.

  • The move is great and totally legal in BJJ, just give it a try.

  • That move is SICK!! I can't wait to try it.

  • This move is a variation of this found in 8 Step Mantis. I've used it countless times doing mma style sparring.

  • can i use it perhaps if my opponent blocks an uchi mata and then just jump i this scissor?

  • Excellent! Thank You!

  • Hey this move actually worked. I don't fight in the UFC but it made my friend tap. Coltsfancolts your a dumbass.

  • THIS is not a shity move,TALKING about UFC,HOW LONG are you watching these shows?

BACK to GOOD OLD TIME of BARE KNUCKLE UFC,

    OLEG TAKTAROV submitted DAVID BENETTO(GRECO ROMAN &JUDO) with similar take down and get the kneebar,it was in ULTIMATE ULTIMATE FIGHTING1,with WHITE_SILVER cover;

IT doesn't help you in life to stay a BUBBA

    and IGNORANT.

  • not true i've landed that first scissor/cradle/ankle lock thing twice in kenpo once in jiu-jitsu and it's my favorite combo in wrestling!(minus the ankle lock)

  • ufc champ anderson "spider" silva was caught by a move like this and was submitted by ryo chonan.

  • Sambo and MMA are completely different although there's some overlap. Sambo is street and field fighting mainly.

Recently Sambo has been undergoing adaptations to make it's fighters more positional than "dive-on-submission."

Sambo is good stuff, and this move is good. Sure, you have to adapt it a bit for MMA, but I'll pwn your ass with this any day. Just ask.

  • sambo is great and so is jiu jitsu, which many people wrongly consider the only grappling base for mma.

you could do sambo like fedor, you could do wrestling like some others do, you could do judo like some do, or you could do jiu jitsu like me.

    their all good effective styles.

to say any of them are innefective is completely retarded, seeing as how theyve all been proven for years in real fights, including cage fights.

sambo rocks, especially when blended into MMA

    =]

  • I agree, but with one caveat.

Sambo rules tend to make strict sambo fighters favor submission attempts over position in a lot of cases. I think it's been fairly well established that position is the first priority in an MMA fight, so while sambo certainly is VERY effective in MMA, it does require some significant modification. This is why I argued that strict sambo was more geared towards street fighting. The philosophy is not to stay on the ground longer than you have to.

  • that was a interesting observation indeed

  • are u kidding me..? ura dumbass

  • nice

  • This is some good shit

  • Love to see the muscle lock! :)

  • My guess he loves to teach also, Steve that is. good explanations and videos.

  • I do love teaching. That is why I quit my job 2 years ago to teach full time. There is nothing better than seeing students learn and practice...and get it right :)

  • Thanks guys!

  • That guy in the camo shorts has some awesome moves and teaches so well, I totally dig all his clips

  • f#king cool, can`t wayt to try it, it`ll take me a while to work it out camera was kind of too close. nice video.

  • Wow, that is amazing. I will now be looking at more Sambo demos, cheers sambosteve

  • "and he wonders, What the hell happened when he saw all the broken bones at the X-ray." Sambo rulez

  • that is so sexy i hate your sexyness hate!!! j/k thanks for the video

  • wow thank god for sambo now my opponents can cry why they are being broken up

  • Nice stuff!!

  • TY FOR SHARING! nice stuff! keep sharing other sombo video pls

  • That is some sick stuff

  • Nice Video. Leglocks are very useful in BJJ grappling matches, they give an advantage, because many grapples can't do them and don't expect them.

  • Thanks for the kind words!

  • damn this guy knows his shit! thanks sambosteve keep it up!

  • Sweet! Very sweet!

  • Thanks...Got a few more on the way.
