  • The ASUS Xonar is also capable of TrueHD

  • eh i've heard a so called HD audio and just the multiple speakers... eh ok well i'll admit yes... its great for like.. a movie... or something... but when it comes to music.. then that shyts totaly not worth it at all... all i need is 2 3way speakers and a nice Kicker L7 Sub... and 2 amps one amp for speakers one amp for subs.. and a CD player... or the Radio... and i got sound as good as i need... however for movies i do understand quality is good...

  • @yurt101 thought i'd mention this. the proper HD Music comes out early 2012, so itunes will start selling quality way higher than MP3/AAC, Blu Audio CD's will get released probably and will sell proper WAV (or equivlent/FLAC) files. normal sound cards only do around the max of 16 bit 44.1khz sample rate sound (which is what .WAV does at its minimal CD quality) MP3/AAC is compressed and sound quality isnt as good. HD Audio does 24bit 192khz max, and sounds amazing....

  • @yurt101 ...we have already been able to produce that high quality through recording equipment but never been able to conveniently get it out there till now.

  • HAHHA you blew 200 bucks on a card... eh my stereo probably sounds way better subs bump hella smooth and it hooks to my computer... no low quality at all... works great... higher quality then my friends $4000 stereo... and i paid only $700 on it...

  • @yurt101 There is no way on earth that your steroe will ever sound better than a HD sound system. it is impossible because the bandwith of the sound file can only pass via HDMI cable. You are only getting Dolby Digital whichis ok, however, let me tell you High def Audio is a world of difference. People who are set up like I am don't own a stereo, our PC is the stereo plays audio files, movies, and any file needed.

  • sry bro.. dint get yu... this card has 1 input hdmi and 1 output hdmi ports.. just run dvi-hdmi cable (provided with this card) from yur graphic card to input hdmi port and HDMI-HDMI cable from output port to yur receiver... from that yur receiver will do the job. So, the only diff btwn these 2 cards is HTHD can send lossless bitstream signal directly to yur receiver whereas prelude downsamples it...check the other 2 parts of this video...hope this helps... :)

  • I have been waiting for this for almost a year....finally this small monster is out :)...but i saw in some forums that it has compatibility issues with nvidia motherboards...is it true?

    anyways thanx mate!

  • I'm unable to confirm that it is not working with a NVIDIA Mobo, but my thoughts are that it should not be an issue. Since it is the weekend I have no way of finding out. As long as you have an open PCI-E slot I don't see why it should be an issue.

  • Are you getting payed by Auzentech?

Of course this is not the only way, what about the HDAV1.3? Uh? That sound-card has been out for a while now.

  • not getting paid, and I should have the hdav1.3 in a bout a week or so, there are sever limitations from what I hear about the card and from what I read,.

  • Many people do not yet have the cards, there are no there cards that can pass true HD sound or dts master audio via pc to receiver. None! Other sound cards only pass Dolby digital or dts but not high def sound such as DTS MA, or TRUE HD! Sorry to correct you!

Concerning a PS3 I don't want to start this debate, but search why won't ps3 pass hd audio? It will not, it forces it's own decode and lpcm or pcm's the audio which IS NOT. DTS MA. Or Dolby true HD. This is 2 years old news.

  • The old PS3 does not output bitstream lossless audio. It performs the decoding onboard and sends out PCM to the receiver via HDMI. The resulting audio is the same as this card. This *is* high definition audio. The decoding is just done on the PS3 instead of in the receiver. There is no down sampling done. The new PS3 slim will let you output bitstream lossless audio so you will see a light on your receiver since it will handle the decoding duties if you chose to.

  • I was going to comment on how exciting it was watching you with that knife and wondering if you were going to cut yourself! lol

  • LOL Ms LisaS7 I would only expect garage doors to be fun and interesting to you. :) Maybe I can build you the first electronic garage door opener for mr Rons dolly house. we'll make history together HAAHAHAHAAAAAAA,

    love ya guys

  • my impressions are, when you see video 3 I'm floored blown away. There are no other systems in the world that can compare to a PC outputting HD sound to a receiver. We can now with BD burners like I have copy our or any BD movie and either save it to our hard drive for personal use or copy it to a BD disk.

  • Awesome. Congrats on the card, it must be awesome. What are your impressions on the output of audio beauty it gives?

  • Boring
