Dude you forgot the other vein lol. The one you forgot is the most important one cause it stinks and most of the time makes people sick. If my wife eats a single shrimp without taking the other vein you forgot she will end up in the ER, first we thought she was allergic to them but then we found out she was only allergic to dirty shrimps.
You make sure its fresh, grasp it firmly in your hand, holding the shrimps as straight as posible, grab the head, twist slightly and then pull stright out. the vein shoudl come out straight. The key is to hold the prawn straight and not let it curve.
High quality video, but the camera does a poor job of following the action. The first demonstration is worthless, but the second one gets the point across.

Turn your tap off when you're not using it. What a waste of water =.=

"The black vein running down the back of shrimp is the digestive tract. It's harmless, so to devein or not devein is a personal preference."
"Removing the "vein" is not essential, as it is not poisonous and is mostly tasteless."

Exactly--why were they zooming in on the chef's face instead of what he's doing with his hands?

Don't forget, there are TWO veins on a shrimp - one running down the back and the other running down the front. Happy deveining!

Nifty - I'm one to use copious amounts of cold, running water as well . . .
