Thanks so much, I didnt have a tennis ball, so I used whatever I found to put in between my upperback and neck and the wall, when I pressed...The pain. It feels much better. Really, thanks
im getting adhesions right up in the lat tricep insertion which are causing upper tricep tendon pain when trying to do pullups or rows.. any massage techniques for this area? I tried the foam roller and it hit the lat really good but I was unable to get pressure up in the armpit area because the roller is too bulky.
thank you for showing the tennis ball trick for rolling up against a wall, it's perfect, the ball has enough give and pressure and you can concentrate on knots very well, and I feel 1000 times better, glad I ran across your video
Hi Max. I am a dancer and I am having alot of problems with neck spasms and bruising where I have knots. I was wondering if you knew of a way to relax my muscles in my neck. Thanks
@hazeful420 massage & trigger point massage, plus rest & anti-inflammatory protocols is always the best ways to get spasms to release and get the muscle to relax. find the knot or adhesion, which may not be located in the area of pain, and apply pressure and hold until it releases. massage with some Bio-freeze if possible to warm it up. Time permitting alternate ice/warmth/ice/warmth for 20 minutes each. use a good calcium/magnesium supplement as a natural muscle-relaxer. trusted chiropractor.
@hazeful420 ...trusted chiropracter to see if you have a sublexed or misaligned vertebrae and to teach you at home, neck traction techniques to take care of your natural curve you should have in your neck.. Get a better ortho pillow and sleep on your back if possible!
hey man. i have a question. i'm 15 years old and i have been having these little spasms all over my body. they dont hurt they are just annoying and its really stressing me out and i know stress is not good for ya.apparently they are just my muscles growing but i dont know. and i dont have any sound so i couldnt listen to the video but im sure it would be helpful.i havent been getting enough sleep cuz im worried.could it just be that my muscles are growing? its really scaring me
i got muscle knot about 5 months ago by kicking the ball. First 2 months it would give me sharp pain in quad if i try to run or kick the ball, then i went to the trainer in High School and he told me its muscle and he told me to get stim -roller and roll the muscle knot, when i did that the pain tend to disappear how ever my quad transformed into hard bump. Now i have big hard bump which i know its muscle, and i dont know how to get rid of it,
I have suffered with pain in my lower back/upper buttock area for almost 3 years now. It feels like a tight knotted muscle but physiotherapy has not made any difference as they only gave me exercises to strengthen the surrounding muscles. I am in pain most of the time and there is weakness in the muscle due to it being painful. Is there any specific technique I can try to deal with this to loosen it off? It appears to be in the buttock muscle mainly but the pain refers especially at night.
thanks for the advice but is there anything i can do about my adhesions caused by surgery? specifically abdominal....thanks! no doctor seems to be able to help me without surgery....again
@bigglebumx try cross-friction massage by a certified massage therapist: you can break the scar tissue down a bit, & help realign the tissues. Scar tissue is strong & serves a purpose but yes, some if it will need to be broken up.
Thanx for your reply, I think it is the Gluteus medius muscle and the pain sort of moves down into the Gluteus maximus. This problem might have occurred because I have been sitting with my upper body turned to my left a lot lately, and I have had this problem for about 2 weeks now.
I am having some backaches, or at least thats what i think but more and more it feels like a problem in my lower right back muscle. It feels like a concentrated pain when I try to lift or just bend down or when I get up from a chair it really stings and hurts. How do I know if it is a knot or something more serious??
lower-right: be more specific...but probably not spine-related. Probe around back there with your fingers in the area to find a tight-spot or spasm/knot/trigger point, or better yet have a massage therapist try to locate. Release with deep pressure in center. How long have you had this issue? Ibuprofen can help with inflammation & discomfort too, but def OK to still move about doing normal daily function - way better than bed rest..
The information you have provided has helped me more in two days than any doctor or chiropractor has in two years!! Thank You so much for taking the time to share.
yo im sorry to ask for help again but a while ago i fell on my knee and hurt it they said it was internal bruising so i was jus letting it heal up then i fell on it again and now its like a lump on my knee i dont know what to do cus i checked with the doc and said it was probably nothing but it still hurts whats do you think it is?
I will have to try the Foam roller for my hamstrings.
I had muscle tightness issues for years. I tried chiro, physical therapy, massage, accupuncture and rolfing. I also tried fish oil.
They all helped to some degree but never got rid of the tightness or pain completely.
Finally about two years ago I went to a naturalpathic physician and she suggested I try taking magnesium supplements. Within about three months all the muscle pain and stiffness was gone.
you bring up such a good point: adequate mineral intake, especially calcium & magnesium are so important to muscle contraction & relaxation ability. Taking such a supplement before bed time can help fix 'Restless Leg Syndrome' as well. Thank you!
I got to get me a tennis ball. I been getting crazy pain in my left shoulder from a knot, I can barely line up shots when im shooting hoops now. I hope this works well.
wear some compression sleeves or wraps on your arms for recovery, or even during training. Neoprene or made of CW-X material, or just an ACE wrap. You probably just need more recovery time - add in another rest day between training arms again!
yo man nice video just a question ive been lifting for a while (several months) and my arms are killing me i cant stretch em any more what can i do???
Thanks Max' = Formidable; You really know some stuff that I didn't., and i'm equally passionate about health and twice your age., Curiously your biggest asset may yet be invisable to you; namely the contribution your knowledge of nutrition+exersize will make to your own well-being in the decades ahead..
I have muscle knots below my shoulder blades and it feels like the world is on my shoulders. When someone massages it my shoulder feels a million tons lighter.
hi my name is allicia and i am currently going to school to become a registered massage therapist. i would like to thank you for trying to encourage others on how to take carre of their selves. i would like to correct you on one thing, you mentioned about how there is a time and place for a masoose. please do not refer to us as a masoose. we are massage therapist. a masoose provides sexual massage favors.. once again i would like to thank you for your home care advice.
Hello Allicia: I'm not sure where you got the notion that a 'masseuse' (that is how you spell it BTW) peforms sexual favors but you couldn't be more wrong. My wife is a practicing masseuse/therapist for 15 years and has never heard of this??! Look up the definition in any dictionary please:)
hi i did not mean to offend you if i did.. i actually got this information by a registered massage therapist investigator. once again im very sorry for offending you,

Your intentions are good...Biofreeze is a cyrotherapy= cold therapy, wrapping it can cause burning to the skin.

@hazeful420 i'm a dancer too, :) i have so many knots that i get all the time and can't go get massages all the time not to mention it's expensive!!
dancer's are probably the most under appreciated athletes because we make it look easy, it's extremely physically demanding
thanks for the vid Max! very helpful)

keep at it: knots tend to come back in the same spots...but eventually you'll be more aware and break it down before it binds up too tight
