  • can allways take the parts, use them to make molds though. then some machining.... and then would have an all metal one

  • Incredible! where does one get this printer?

  • lathe? maybe some turning toy you mean?

  • Great stuff, now you can Turn parts instead of 3D printing them LOL

  • Was für n Scheiss

  • That's crazy! Well done sir.

  • Nice lathe! What's it made of? You perhaps could use that as a form to cast a metal one. Once again excellent work

  • @DrFrankensteam It is made of PLA (poly lactic acid) which is a bio polymer and is compostable. But it also can be used for lost investment casting because it evaporates completely and leaves no residue in the mold when heated enough.

  • @Sublimekustoms Thanks for the information, once again, nice work. I'd maybe make the bed a little more heavy duty but other than that its really great.

  • did you have to machine any of the parts after they were printed?do they come out perfict?

  • @jaytank31 Perfect, No. But almost no extra work either.

  • people bitch and complain simply because they do not have the capacity to learn to do it themselves. It's called jealousy.

  • what a fantastic idea!

  • dude thats cool !!

  • I was gonna say that looks printed

  • Nice job. I like it when people think outside the box. It may not be able to do much, but it is a proof of concept. I just got my first metal lathe (Grizzly 7x12 which is nice) and already want a bigger one. I would love to have one of those reprap printers.

  • Stunning piece of work! Thanks for sharing!

To the haters: of course it's not going to be a working lathe. I don't imagine teh first generation lathes were terribly good, either, but those lathes were built upon to create better ones.

It's hardly helpful to rib someone for trying, is it?

  • i seriously didnt understand anything of this video

  • nice ;)

  • That is really cool nice job.

  • Tail-stock ejection!

  • @adisharr

Yes, but it does exactly what it is supposed to. Maybe not what you want, but I did not make it for YOU. People who expect more than is realistic are ALWAYS let down. Its a plastic lathe printed on a RepRap that makes it possible for someone without access to a lathe to build yet a better piece of machinery without the dependence of someone who has what they need. I don't know why people bitch and complain about something that only improves the lives of those without.

  • Great job Sublime!

  • This is awesome!!!

  • wondered when somebody was going to take the time to do this. Brilliant! :-)

  • Nice design.

  • That thing looks great man. Once I get my RepRap I'll defenetly print one of these out for myself.
