I think this was the same day as that horrible f-3 tornado that touched down in conway springs kansas. I watched that on storm stories last night about that kansas tornado and watching it was cool. p.s. was there any tornado touchdowns with this line?
Its interesting how the new Doppler Rader and EAS move from east to west. As the west coast gets their new programs, then the east coast will get the newest programs
very nice. I like your EAS better than the ones we have here in illonois here they come up and say "The emegency alert system has been activated please turn to channel 3."
What you're actually hearing is the NOAA weather radio feed from the Dayton, OH transmitter. Once EAS is activated (automatically, via weather radio), the tone defeat switches on, and the voice switches over. A second tone defeat is played over the weather radio, which the EAS systems reads as "stop transmit".
When I listen to my Weather Radio, I get those 3 buzzers, a long beep, then a voice saying "Please stand by" and then the severe weather alert when a warning is issued.
On my Radio/TV, I get the EAS Alert tones/beep followed by the NWS Robot with the alert.
annoying but serves a purpose
