Yes, the men's style appealed to us more as dancers than the women's style. We enjoyed the challenge of playing all the rhythms with our bodies and feet. We were grateful to our Russian teacher, Vladmir Riazantsev (who appears in this video) who was supportive and enthusiastically taught us this choreography. Traditionally, Romani women do not wear pants, which is why we put our hair up and dressed as though we were men!
I am not a gypsy but I must say,the gypsy musci of spain is amazing and I am in love, the people are beautiful with there tan complextions and curly or wavy black hair, beautiful!
oh tsigano..gahje is a japanese word..just means the person isnt one of us..that goes for anyone not just romani people..there video rocks, so stop haten
no that would be "gaijin"...and like more than 50% of japanese language that word is a chinese loanword (modern mandarin "wai4ren2)...anyways, beautiful video and I completely understand Tsigano's concern....its disturbing if not sickening to see people present a culture that isn't theirs and completely mess it up...disney...*cough* *cough* but it looks like they did an excellent job in this video mashallah. keep it up!
I love this video..its doesnt matter where you think someone is from..we are all related to each other..noone knows what blodd they have in them..to much to trace back to be exact..keep it up ya;; I love this video
All the Romani groups I know all share four things; clapping, hands in air, guitar playing and tap dancing.
The belief that some Roms went through North Africa and into Spain I have great doubt over as there is much evidence to not support this. Many people get the Domari nomadic groups of the Muslim countries confused with the Roms but they are not from the same root.
Wow! nice music and dancing..can anyone tell me some good gypsy artist to listen to?..i wanna gather some influences..if you have some, pls do pm me..tnx! appreciate it a lot!

Amongst Spanish Roms (Gitano) it is the same "remedios amaya y el carpeta"

Another example of Romani dancing is "Roma Fest, Gypsy Dancers at the Paléo Festival".
All Roms tap dance, wave arms & clap hands as I have ever seen.

Not sure what I think of this. Gahje (non Romani people) trying to present our culture and tell us of our history. Very good dancing though.
