actually i heard that megatron is a protoform himself because when he landed on earth he was crash landed in ice for a while and had no time to scan anything even when he was unfroze so he resembles a cybertronion jet thing

Megatron retained his Cybertronian form like you said but his protoform would be very bare and skinny like Prime and Starscream.

Actually, I read on the Transformers wiki that Megatron is one of the few transformers capable of space travel without needing a protoform.

The Protoforms are okay. They should have made one for each character, but Optimus and Starscream are pretty good looking in protoform

Some people, like KittyDCE and myself, don't like having two Prime figures in the same line. He decided he'd call his Protoform Optimus Prime "Ultra Magnus" instead. It's not really all that bad an idea.

On Cybertron, Starscream and the other seekers were UFO's in alternate mode. Each side was a triangle. I wish they would release a Cybertron figure of the seekers with the UFO triangle mode which transforms into a perfect G1 seeker mode.

I didn't buy Starscream, but I did pick up "Ultra Magnus" XD, Yeah I do like the Moon theory. The Decepticons and Bumblebee did land on Mars breifly (Movie Novel) and Starscream destroyed the Bagle2Mars rover *SPOILER*
