I think Honda has to work on the design department... Even though last gen of CRV is great, it looks boring to me. I have a Gen 1 CRV, I think that was the best one. At least it can take the punishment of a light off-roading.
The CRV is a great vehicle but the crossover is still practically pointless. You could get similar cargo space and passenger room with better fuel economy in a hatch or wagon.

I'm surprised at Honda with the refresh on the CR-V I was hoping from a little more from them just like with the Civic -Si They should have giving both vehicles the 2.3L Vtec turbo engine. They messed with the suspension on the CR-V thats fine cause its an SUV its not suppose to ride rough. But when you messed with the Si suspension making it a softer ride thats where they went wrong YIKES!! Well all this coming from a Honda owner I hope they start changing things up more.
When I saw a spiced-up "concept" photo of the 2012 CR-V I really wanted it, I thought it looked really sporty and yet massive. Now I see the production model, and with simpler rocker panels and smaller wheels it does not look anywhere near as good. And the rear, which looked great on the "concept" looks just horrible on production model.
I love Honda its my favorite car company and I've been around Hondas all my life. I got a 2005 CR-V and I think its the best styling of it with the white lights on top instead of the amber. With the square shaped body. I think they have ruined the CR-V and are just making it worse

@wtf000000000000 Performance of intended purposes. The whole point of an eight speed is for maximum fuel economy which is what cars in this segment meant to do. Have you ever driven an 8 speed car? I driving a dealer loaner LS460 recently and I didn't even know it was an 8 speed. Know what your talking about before you talk a gearbox does not require to go 8,7,6,5 it can go 8 to 5 straight up. Other wise performance orientated car like an IS-F wouldn't use an 8 speed.

Doug, now if your talking loaded up with accessories then maybe but my sticker with my adjusted price for wheel locks mud gaurds and a trunk tray puts the price at 32999 if you go for the HPD performance package and wheels yeah I have yet to sell one with anything close to a 37 grand sticker for an accord
40k for an Accord I don't think so, try fully loaded V6 navi Accord sedan 32,999 I don't know what world you live in that 33,000 is 40,000 or a car manufacturer that has the most initial quality awards to be considered cheap or over priced to get a honda upwards of 40 you gotta go to an odyssey or pilot and those are touring editions with absolutely everything. and volvo isn't even in the same class as honda so thats a moot point

The big problem with CR-Vs is they do not have much of a payload capacity. My 2006 has the same as a 2010 CR-V ( my co-worker just bought one). I overload my civic every year for my camping vacations ( bike on the back , coolers, packed to the max, low rider). I was thinking of getting a CR-V, but to my amazement it had the exact same payload (750 pounds). No manufacture tells you the payload capacity of their car on their website, You have to look at the drivers door post panel.

Doug, now if your talking loaded up with accessories then maybe but my sticker with my adjusted price for wheel locks mud gaurds and a trunk tray puts the price at 32999 if you go for the HPD performance package and wheels yeah I have yet to sell one with anything close to a 37 grand sticker for an accord

40k for an Accord I don't think so, try fully loaded V6 navi Accord sedan 32,999 I don't know what world you live in that 33,000 is 40,000 or a car manufacturer that has the most initial quality awards to be considered cheap or over priced to get a honda upwards of 40 you gotta go to an odyssey or pilot and those are touring editions with absolutely everything. and volvo isn't even in the same class as honda so thats a moot point

The big problem with CR-Vs is they do not have much of a payload capacity. My 2006 has the same as a 2010 CR-V ( my co-worker just bought one). I overload my civic every year for my camping vacations ( bike on the back , coolers, packed to the max, low rider). I was thinking of getting a CR-V, but to my amazement it had the exact same payload (750 pounds). No manufacture tells you the payload capacity of their car on their website, You have to look at the drivers door post panel.

@AvacadokenHonda19 jealous of what? Honda and Toyota both are on a road to failure. Honda is not the same Honda we all knew and loved. They make ugly overpriced cars now. I meant the TSX and the Accord are the EXACT same car and both of which can reach upwards of 40k when fully loaded. I'd much rather take my 40k to a manufacture worth the 40k. Not some cheap Honda.

@AvacadokenHonda19 Overpriced = Fuel Efficency? I'd rather go buy a Hyundai or Kia for fuel efficency! And their cars actually look good and have nice quality materials! Have you been inside the new 2012 civic?!? My CAVALIER has better quality materials! Fuel efficency should not affect a cars market value! The Honda CRX was cheap and very fuel efficent. The same goes for the Geo Metro!

@AvacadokenHonda19 I actaully see more hyundais and kias than Hondas, i see plenty of cavaliers and cobalts too. Honda isn't gonna last with they way they're going about things. Their whole line up is hideous, with the exception of the Accord and CRZ. That one last long since the accord is being redisgned and the CRZ doesn't sell.

YUCK!! Honda, you are still at it..building these ugly outdated brand new cars, really a 5 speed auto in a 2012, even Chrysler is using 6 spds, and I'm pretty sure that 5 little HP gain is from the switch to electric steering so it basically the same old drivetrain.
