I genuinely liked this series: admittedly the first time I saw it with the new Joker I was like woah! dude what is this? But this series had some really good storylines: in particular season 4 was my favourite: I didn't think much of season 5 when the Justice League was introduced: they should have carried on with Gotham based villains. I didn't think much of Mr Freeze: BTAS had a much better version but I preferred Penguin here :)
@batmenace15 Yes!!! They made Penguin, Riddler, and The Joker less mob boss villinv, and more, evil sadistic, I'll actually fight hand to hand with Batsy villins.
@Nation4202007 I would say its very good adaptation of the Batman: Having been born in 1989 I've been privileged to having an awesome childhood from the BTAS to this version (I have as yet to watch batman the brave and the bold) but yes; there are a lot of amazing storylines; personally the only downfall for me was that a lot of eps focused on the Joker (much as I love him) I never really got to know the Riddler- ScareCrow nor TwoFace nor The Mad Hatter made an appearance! :(
It's funny how all this time when It showed the title, I thought the sound was the batmobile reving up, then I noticed that it was a whisper "THE BATMAAN" hmm
While I have to give this show credit for getting me interested in Batman, and I've only seen 4 episodes of Batman Beyond and only 3 of BTAS, it just doesn't hold up with the other two.
@landioma Are you freakin kidding? TB had the best looking Riddler ever! He actually looked EVIL for once. And I love the fact that the Joker wasn't just a mob boss type of bad guy. He actually FOUGHT with Batsy. Hand to hand martial-arts. THAT is an awsome way to depict the Joker.
@Ilovecaptainjack224 But It's so out of character, that It's hardly either the riddler or the joker. Kudos for a more varied rogue gallery, but honestly? The riddler didn't look evil. He looked like some whiny emo with his pale hue and his long black hair.
I'm sorry, but I don't think anything you will say will convince me those redesigns were for the better. Why change what isn't broken?
This series was started for all the wrong reasons, but over time it really came of age and turned into an excellent show. How lucky are we that every Batman show to grace television has been a good one
They didn't do two-face in this series because of detective ethan bennet (clayface). He and bruce were both friends but then enemies just like harvey dent was
You know what I wish they would have done with Joker? I wish they would have kept with his costume in the first episode. You know, the brown straight jacket with the purple sleeves. I like the suit version, but I would have preferred the ep1 look for this Joker
I absolutely love this opening, even little 12-13 year old me was outraged when they changed it.
Before this show became too cheerful/Batgirl/Robin, I would watch it every single day when the first/second season was on TV. I absolutely love the dark feel of it that they brought back. Every character design/voice I like, except for the Joker. His character is still done very well, his voice isn't even as bad as it could be, but this is one of my least favorite Joker designs of all time.
I used to think pretty much all the good kids cartoons died out in the 90's but when the first season of this came out I was hooked, the portrayal of some of the classic and even lesser known villians was rather dark and entertaining. Once the new season was out it just became rather stupid and childish.
We need more darker shows like this on, it's something young kids can get into but the darker feel is good for an older audience or old Batman fans.
it had such a badass opening and had a very dark awesome feel to it! too bad this is now replaced with brave and bold... if i wanted comic graphics ill just read a comic ( yeah in your dreams) but why did they ruin this show.. and theres no place one can buy this or watch this ):
this was the best batman show so much better then the other ones number 1 reason why is because they dont make his headd to hugly sguare or his body so dam big dosent look good
I do have to give this show credit it was good, I liked it. The artwork was stylish, the designs of characters were good, and it had its dark moments like the original Batman animated series I grew up with in the 90s. However, parents got involved and they were forced to tone down the dark aspect of the show and it started to become boring and stupid.
@ 0424john What about the 2000's ninja trutles cartoon. It was'nt as campy as the 80's-90's one and was closer 2 the comics.IMO it was good excepted that they cheped out with the last two seaons "Fast forward" & "Back to the sewer" in the animation and story quality.
Batman: The Animated Series, The New Batman Adventures, The Batman, Batman: The Brave and the Bold and even the rather different Batman Beyond, all were awesome! Some of you hate on The Brave and the Bold, but it is just fine.
Add the Justice League series to this, and it's quite obvious that DC's animated shows are completely astounding.
@TriviaFreak To me, the whole point of The Brave and the Bold is just an over-the-top silly romp which pokes fun at the mythos and the ridiculous of it all, it's a self-parody to me, and in that sense it works.
I dont know why everyone is complaining, i personally loved this show... until they introduced bat girl, robin and the justice league... The writing before that was dark and very good. Just because its not your old batman version you people cry and whine like children.
@HAWHAWH Some of us whine about how certain shitty conservative fuckwits whined about how "dark" cartoons weren't supposed to be for kids, and that's why this awesome intro got changed into that campy piece of shit that probably ended up bombing out this awesome series.
Even the villain redesigns were cool! Then parents stepped in. They don't know shit about children today. It doesn't look like they even know how to raise the modern kid, which comes complete with the latest technology!
@TriviaFreak agreed. I grew up watching dark cartoons and also other good cartoons such as Darkwing Duck or Fillmore (Middle School CSI would be a good name for it too) or Gargoyles and Todd McFarlane's Spawn and didn't turn into a psycho. The parents stepping up thing may be the reason today's cartoons are so lame, it's like they forgot what it is to be a kid, i missed Scarecrow and Two Face on this show, they should bring it back and put them there (with this intro)
I agree, what the hell happened to all the good shows? All that's on tv now are ridiculous cartoons with no plot points, and almost every show now are about kids becoming famous... :/ all the good shows have died with our forgotten childhood.
@XBrandonXMassacreX And that's kids' shows, to boot. Why do you think Doctor Who's been so famous for over forty years? Because even though there was violence, they were tasteful and mostly done overtly, even on-screen.

@HAWHAWH It's just we get mad because they began this cartoon very dark and seious and then ruined it. Why? because dark cartoons aren't for kids? i grew up watching South Park, Gargoyles, Extreme GhostBusters, Mutant League and Spawn (the cartoon that aired on HBO) and i'm not a psycho
@HAWHAWH I personally agree with you. I'm twelve, and I can tell you that a lot of people in my age group love the old dark cartoons like Batman TAS. Sure, the happy colorful cartoons with no plot are good, but It's series like this that really shine.
God I used 2 watch when I was young.... LoVe the artwork...Thumbs up if you used to watch this (or still do) and it brings back memories 4 you.... ; )
You know its weird. In this version, Bruce Wayne is much more human than in his other incarnates. I mean he's not a stoic seriously badass but he's more calm, relaxed and he cares a lot about the friends he was able to make in this version. Guess I like this incarnate more than the others.
@hadomaru That doesn't make up for the fact that most of the characters bear no resemblance to their original designs. It looks cool, but it doesn't look like Batman.
@DaftMau5Music No, I love Batman. I just dislike this incarnation of it. It very much is inferior to Batman: the animated series. And the Joker looks nothing like any other version of the character! Btw the animation is great, but the character designs are bad.
This is intro is what truly captures Batman's character and everything about him. Though he is fighting for justice and he's a hero, he shows that sometimes you gotta be bad to beat the bad guys. He instills a creeping cold feeling of fear into his enemies and He is the "Dark Knight" and this intro truly captures that sort of scary and creepy intimidation factor Batman utilizes to take down his enemies. Miss this show so bad and I wish they didn't change it.
I love this theme so much!!! I can't believe they changed it for the other seasons. Every time they put this intro on the tv I would turn the volume to max. Was my favorite show in the universe. What I like about batman more than any other hero is him and his villains are realistic. Other heroes and villains get their powers from what the fuck ever. But all batman uses is science, brains and kick ass tech. Also his villains are actually smart. Most of the times they form a complicated plan that
I'm more of a Marvel than a DC guy, but I gotta' hand it to these guys, this show was awesome! And the other themes in this show weren't bad ( in my opinion) but this one truly captured what the show's tone was; dark, creepy, but epic and heroic.
I really love how this intro gave the show a dark vibe. And then you look at the other intros and they had like music that made me think of the old Adam West show.
@strikerk Once again, you can blame conservative Christian parents who have no idea that their children are being exposed to more sophistication at an increasingly younger and younger age.
I always liked this show, sure it didn't last like BTAS and the first two or three seasons were great, sure some episodes were hit or miss (Cluemaster for example sucked) but some characters were done great.
Batgirl had a much better personality than TAS, Clayface was a well rounded character, as was Riddler. Joker was very unique and I liked him. Penguin was a legit villain for once and Batman himself was a step away from the norm, not being as ultra-dark as usual. Good underrated show this.
The theme song and intro is great. But I never really got into this version of batman, I just think you can't do a great animated batman show without the writing talents of paul dini and bruce timm. It has fairly stylised look. But still nothing will ever top batman the animated series which I think is a classic.
The dickweeds at upper management probably changed the intro cause the fuking parents complained the intro was too dark for their children. Fucking helicopter parents ruining everything.
I blame the sidekicks joining in for ruining the intro, though it would be interesting to see a fanmade intro using footage of the two still with this song.

@ATEnhancedPictures Only TAS was better than this, and especially "Brave and the Bold" or the cartoons based on the live-action 60's show...
TriviaFreak 7 months ago
@TriviaFreak Batman the brave and the bold does suck. The humor has seemed to be removed.

Does anyone know if the released this sick intro tune on CD?

@yauyuso No, but you can download it somewhere... forgot where.

@johnwall2wizards Got replaced by Ming Na's character, girl named Yin.
TriviaFreak 8 months ago
@johnwall2wizards He got turned into Clayface, so his partner Yin took the spotlight as the cop character
Though the script writers totally dropped her once Gordon came into the picture
AquaPhoenix2006 8 months ago

I'm more of a Marvel than a DC guy, but I gotta' hand it to these guys, this show was awesome! And the other themes in this show weren't bad ( in my opinion) but this one truly captured what the show's tone was; dark, creepy, but epic and heroic.

I really love how this intro gave the show a dark vibe. And then you look at the other intros and they had like music that made me think of the old Adam West show.

Sick intro~ this made me want to watch the show. The following intros looked so campy, I avoided this show like the plague.

@strikerk Once again, you can blame conservative Christian parents who have no idea that their children are being exposed to more sophistication at an increasingly younger and younger age.

This intro is just so godamn jazzy and cool!

I wish they didn't replace this tune with that sixties homage.

The theme song and intro is great. But I never really got into this version of batman, I just think you can't do a great animated batman show without the writing talents of paul dini and bruce timm. It has fairly stylised look. But still nothing will ever top batman the animated series which I think is a classic.
pixargod 9 months ago
This intro is cool. The later ones were lame.
Anyone know if the "Bat-alarm" sound is available somewhere? I'd like to use it as my text message sound.

fraddi 10 months ago 2
@fraddi hehe hell yea!....this is possibly the best intro next to the old one
jimmytwotimez 10 months ago
The dickweeds at upper management probably changed the intro cause the fuking parents complained the intro was too dark for their children. Fucking helicopter parents ruining everything.
fraddi 10 months ago
WHY THE HECK HAVE THEY CHANGED THE INTRO!
seriously, didnt they see the awesomeness of this intro?

Oh yea. I remember this. The first Batman Cartoon I ever saw, as well as the first I watched on a regular basis every Sunday at 9:35 AM.
Man I miss that series

im not to fond of this batman (batmobile is kick-ass though) but this was waaaaaay better than that shitty excuse for batman:the gay and the homo...
EDDIEinWAR 10 months ago
I blame the sidekicks joining in for ruining the intro, though it would be interesting to see a fanmade intro using footage of the two still with this song.
