Assume Obama brings back his army from Iraq and Afghanistan. Then these trained solders will settle in the U.S. in the midst of an economic hardship. With Iran blocking to the west, Russia to the North and China and the Himalayas to the East the only way to get it is a pipeline through Afghanistan and Pakistan.
This situation called for diplomacy, not forceful acquisition .
in fact there is another way, the challenging iran(northern border)-pakistan(coast)-indian pipeline, a project that is being pushed by iran at least. So, there's pressure on the unocal (karzai was former consultant or something for unocal) pipeline through afghanistan, and, persuading the taliban to buy into this project, by defeat or agreement, is a key issue of the scam...
The newspapers are corporates we must remember. Advertising pays for the space and as I've always felt that many in the media really behave like the elites. As far as wars go Will Rogers said, "I have a scheme for stopping war. It's this - no nation is allowed to enter a war till they have paid for the last one."
And He said, "The time to save is now. When a dog gets a bone, he doesn't go out and make a down payment on a bigger bone. He buries the one he's got."
I woke up with the Stomach flu this weekend, I will spare the gory details. It was suggested that I go to the the ER as I was very ill. I didn't go. I would rather sit in a stupor feeling very sick then sit in an ER for 6-8 hours be given some tylenol & told to get bed rest and then be billed $495! and I have insurance.
So I sat at home nodding off in front of computer feeling very bad that the Health care in 21st century America is nothing but a sick joke.
If I were president... My goal would be to end the American Empire before it ends us. As counter-intuitive as it sounds I think this would make the U.S. stronger. Objectives to ending the empire would include, but not be limited to, pulling troops out of foreign countries. I do not think there is are legitimate reasons to have troops stationed in Korea, Germany, Saudi Arabia etc.
Or... I'd push for re-instating the draft. no exemptions.
Ah, the wars without end. Orwell's future comes to life. Your have your proletarians, your middle 'party' class, and of course the elite. You have your propaganda, and the arresting of those who would decent, and even the spiriting away of people for torture to confess their sins to the party.
