  • Yeah, those wrapped bails of grass are silage as ignarukih pointed out. For hay you need to cut the grass, leave it out in the sunlight for it to dry out and voila, you have hay! (which can be wrapped in the same fashion as silage).

  • Silage, yo. The grass ferments in those wrappings and is used as feed for the cattle. True story.
