No need to abolish the income tax It's Constitutional It doesn't apply to 96% of us They don't want us to know about this Anyone reading this will think I'm high, but it's as simple as this: If you don't work for or do business directly with the Federal government, you do not qualify as a 'taxpayer' as defined in the IRC. The postman, air traffic controllers, and Ron Paul are 'taxpayers' as they have all chosen to engage in Federally Privilege l o s t h o r i z o n s . c o m LEARN!!!
@Tparty76 16th Amendment: "Congress shall have the power to lay and collect taxes on incomes FROM WHATEVER SOURCE DERIVED...". There is no specific limitation on whose incomes, and it seems to say ANY incomes.
can anyone you know explain the reason why they dont like ron paul?i tried to get my friends and family to tell me why,at the end of the conversation they leave loving ron paul and his platform.
Yo All! If you want Ron Paul to win, you gotta start talking to 40 yr olds and older about it. Talk to your parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts. Young people love him, but thats not enough...gotta get the older vote!
Abolish the income tax? Is this guy out of his mind? Our government's budget is too big to do that. Talk about debt. The tip idea is a good one though.
@AWesome61696 Its a fraud! Its not our debt' and government is too big and deceptive being controlled by corporate lobbyists stealing away jobs and mfg sent to china' why are we producing our own products and putting people to work' Corportate despotism is a bitch' and that the fed' a crook' taxation without any representation! Taxation is suppose to be voluntary' there is now law its an idea that people buy into and become puppets to any law' servitude? Liberty?
@DrFruedienslip Allright, I agree with you that our debt is too high, but that's just another reason why abolishing the income tax is an outright absurd notion. And I would love to reduce lobbyist influence in our government, that's one of the reasons why I support Barack Obama, because he HAS reduced lobbyist influence in the government.
Taxation was never supposed to be voluntary. Like Ben Franklin said, "there is nothing more certain than death or taxes."
@AWesome61696 A little too late dont you think, there is no doubt that there is a movement which has been taking place every since the IMF has been exposed' however, the debt has nothing to do with having provided any vialble services for the people' its a corporate entity and should never be seen as any burden to the people who didnt vote for anything done by this government. There is simply far too much going on here than what meets the eye' and this is not 1776' but 2011
@AWesome61696 that's what spring cleaning is for. take away the superfluous departments and the global police state and suddenly the budget's not so big!
@chadimus84 Well can we do away with the rederick and sarcasim for a moment? When you mean "take away the superfluos departments" do you mean reduce the bureacracy by combining departments but spend the same ammount of money? Because that isn't nowhere near balancing the budget. Or do you mean eliminate those departments' expenditures all together, because that's the entire budget right there.
The best way to balance the budget is to reduce defense spending and overseas wars.

eliminating income tax would set us all the way back to year 2000 spending limits.oh no.We'd have to give up these pointless wars and eliminate the federal reserve to keep America afloat. Darn

@JRRingling004 Wow... that was unmistakably racist. I'm sure the Republican Party has a few black people in it, but I have to say it's like playing those Waldo games. Hmm... Now where did they find Cain?
Lol, this is actually funny!! Dropping income tax would mean losing the single biggest tax. Prepare to see your society disintergrate when that happens. Goodbye police, goodbye armed forces, goodbye road construction and repair, goodbye coastguard, goodbye fire service....... this list goes on, and on, and on.....
i seriously dont understand how anyone could support him. No income tax!? ya right. good bye public schools, law enforcement, military, healthcare etc. Every man for himself i guess, how ridiculous....
@rellik1945 you obviously have no idea what you are talking about... Public Schools and all of that are paid for by local state and property taxes. Theres a tax on every gallon of gasoline you buy that pays for the roads.
put air plane banners over washington dc and wall street.
end wars / rebuild America/ jobs back to OUR country / fix debt/ stop campaign funding to congressmen [do your job instead of soliciting funding from big corps & lobbyists/ STOP spending / STOP trying to end social security with "Super Committee" [the 2nd congress that cannot debate anything & UNCONSTITUTIONAL]. END all taxes on tips.

and what do you think other nations or group of people want to attack you?i help you a little bit.where i live we don't tell and than force other nations to do something they don't want to.guess what! we are safe and we don't even need an army, but we do keep a very small one and it cost us next to nothing.yes.i say quit all that stupid war no point of it.most of your people don't even have a clue what is up with it anymore.what are you exactly fighting for????quit the war save the money.
Christ what a bunch of fucking morons you people are. The truth is that tax payer dollars keep the US economy afloat. We even subsidize large profitable corporations. There really is very little "free enterprise" in America anymore. So lets be honest, it's been right wing Republicans, from Regan to both Bushes that have blown the budget apart mostly on "defence" spending. Maybe it might be best to end the USA and create a few new Nations. The rednecks in the south can have Palin.LOL.
Ron Paul, ARE YOU RETARDED?? Do you have any idea at all how long it would take to pay off the National Debt Failbama worked up without income tax? What about the salaries of policemen and firefighters? I don't see a problem with getting rid of taxes on tips. but income tax as a whole will drive the US into the ground. Welfare and income tax need to be reworked so people can't abuse them, not eliminated altogether.
@DreamTiger5 Wow ur a fucking idiot. Half of your so-called firefighters and cops are lazy faty fucks that need a manual laobor job to lose the fat. You want your people to get paid get off your lazy ass but to tax my money FUCK YOU! KEEP YOUR DAMN FUCKING HANDS OFF MY MONEY. i CANT STAND PEOPLE LIKE YOU WORRIED ABOUT NATIONAL DEBT. WHY WHY WHY? THEY DONT AND SO WHY SHOULD WE. ITS ALL GOING TO FALL APART BECAUSE OF PEOPLE WITH IDEAS LIKE YOURS. THATS WHY WE ARE THE TERRORIST COUNTRY! WAKEUPTURD!
@kmitchem4 Dude, calm down. I'm not saying income tax should be raised, just that it needs to be made more efficient so rich folks can't weasel out of paying it and the debt goes down faster. If we don't get it paid off, it'll still be there haunting us; a high debt means higher taxes on store-bought items, inflation, reduced benefits from Medicare and Social Security, and higher interest rates. Paying it off should be our first priority, and that'll be impossible without income tax.
@kpeacesmith If Ron Paul fix the United States during his first term, I would be embarrased to run against him in the Election of 2016. I would also be pissed if we go through the same thing now after Paul's two terms are up. Well, just saying.
@DreamTiger5 why do americans always exaggerate so much? dont worry man just because the US army isnt getting 600 billion a year dosent mean your in danger, its just means your not in debt. and besides who would really try and attack the US apart from terrorists. and they cant escape the middle east from the troops already there.
@u7alll Unless he pulls them out before they've settled down, which seems pretty likely, especially if he slashes military funding when we aren't putting nearly as much into the treasury as we should be. I'm not saying we should declare war on everybody that's a threat, as that would be suicidal; just that we should keep a presence in said nations without getting too involved. And bringing all our soldiers back won't get us out of debt. Not by a long shot.
@u7alll Our national debt is in the trillions, and even if the military was completely disbanded (which will never happen, I would hope, as Paul is a former pilot) it would take an extremely long time to pay off without income tax. In the meantime it's causing all sorts of economic problems.
I don't get all this stuff about the GOP and Federal Reserve, but abolishing our income tax with a debt that big is suicide.
@DreamTiger5 well i know it seems that way. but the whole reason america actually mattered was at the end of the 1800's where they acuumulated quite a bit of money they managed to do cool shit. and besides is there any proof of a country suffering from aboloshing income tax with debt
@SirVaughnElric Well where is the government going to find the extra spending money to compensate for the loss in revenue? Im no economist but i think the governmet spends a bit more than they did back in 1914. They would have to seriously cut down on spending. Usually when government cut spending the first to go are social workers like teachers and police officers. Don't really think that's a good idea.
@aieljose 5 Wars and you are worried about social workers....42 cents out of every dollar is borrowed to finance the spending, the income tax just goes to pay the interest on the debt. Imagine that, the bankers have everyone fooled...the whole system is bottom up meaning the bottom pays and the top earns. Welcome to msilatipac!!
@SirVaughnElric Berkanke was mainly correct when he said gold isn't money. Gold acts as a medium who's value hardly changes. That makes it a safer investment than the dollar which fluctuates up and down like crazy. That's why most countries keep their gold rather than sell it. If you're dollar goes to shit, you know you're gold will always have high value.
@aieljose Gold will have a value of what? some dollar amount? So gold is only valuable if you can turn it into money, if money is valueless than so is your gold.
@Justwosweet I'm starting to think you're retarded. The fact that my dollar is worth nothing is irrelevant. Even if my dollar is worth 0 i can still barter my gold to other countries because it will always have value. My money might be worth nothing but that doesn't mean everybody elses will.
@aieljose Missed the point, its 98yr fiat system, It's a scam, We're not on the gold standard, we're on the print fake money for oil and war profiteering standard.
We don't economize anything we waste everything and push it on the poor. Money is for the apathetic who don't care who it hurts as long as they make a profit in their eyes. The ones who empathize don't care about money at all, which is why their so bad with it. They'll give it up to help a fellow man in need.
Ron Paul Money Bomb! Ready Ames Fire! July 19th! Save the country from the establishment RINOS! ronpaul2012 Donate and stop the same old trash every 4 years! Freedom! End the Wars! End the TSA groping! End the tyranny! End the IRS! Pro America! Civil Liberties! Legalize FREEDOM!
I say abolish the penny and recall as many as you can so the gov't can get money back from the copper and zinc, I'm 17 and I have a debit card, I like to use that more than paper money because I don't weigh down my pants with 2 dollars in coins.
HERE ARE REASONS WHY RON PAUL WILL NEVER BECOME US PRESIDENT;
1) AGE. (TOO OLD TO BE A PRESIDENT OF THE MOST POWERFUL COUNTRY IN THE WORLD)
2)DOESNT HAVE ENOUGH FUNDS( SELLS HIS BOOK AND USES WORDS CONSTITUTION AND LIBERTY), THAT WILL NOT PUT FOOD ON A TABLE FOR AMERICAN PEOPLE
3)DOESNT HAVE A REAL STRATEGY ON EXACTLY HOW HE IS GOING TO CREATE JOBS(OK, LETS SAY WE WILL BRING ALL TROOPS HOME, THEN WHAT?) THEY ARE GOING TO BECOME UNEMPLOYED AND COLECT WELFARE?
wow i really hope he fails. No income tax? It's a gift to the rich..... and the poor are screwed. Government protects the poor, so with a small government, it helps no one except the rich. :(
@thealmassi1 I absolutely agree. Unless corporations want to pay more and offer health care insurance. But also, if you eleminate the income taxes, you're going down a dangerous path. This country is very socialized as it is, and for the most part works well. Lifeguards, firefighters, police, military, local parks and national parks maintanence, building our transportation system, stipend programs for lower class citizens, etc. So long as we have the monetary system in place, taxes are a must
@thealmassi1 that's completely untrue. This big government is not protecting the poor. It is causing more and more economic disaster which means there is more unemployment, more poor people, and the middle class is becoming poorer everyday. Study Ron Paul's position more carefully. He is not talking sensationally about getting rid of the income tax, he is talking about an entire change in policy that will help the country economically and socially.
If everyone in the US has money & groceries for 2 weeks for back p;stead of living check to check. Every walking people in the US; just stop what their doing and protest; to veto all high office military, congress, senator, feds, cia, nsa etc.out of office. This Country is built be the people not the govern nor the corp. A Country can not go on with out its people.

RON PAUL, LETS SAY WE BRING ALL TROOPS HOME AND BECOME A PUSSY COUNTRY AND LET CHINA TELL US WHAT TO DO, TELL ME HOW ARE YOU GOING TO CREATE JOBS IF POPULATION OF CHINA IS 1.4 B? CHINESE WORK LIKE ROBOTS, AMERICANS WILL NEVER WORK LIKE ANTS, NOW TELL ME HOW THE FUCK ARE YOU GOING TO CREATE JOBS? SHAME ON YOU ! YOU JUST WANNA SELL UR BOOK AND U LIE TO AMERICAN PEOPLE ABOUT JOBS! AMERICAN PEOPLE WAKE UP , ROBOTS WILL REPLACE US , LEARN COMPUTERS! HOW CONSTITUTION CAN CREATE JOBS? SHAME ON YOU!
The private federal reserve has decreased their monopoly money(the dollar) by 95%, inflation is a hidden tax, by ENDING THE FED, we have sound money, and THE CONSTITUTION would nullify all those laws corporations lobby to put on small business(ex. NAFTA AND GATT), while they escape taxes(offshore) and get our tax money in the bailouts when all there plants are in 3rd world nations
Type Endgame into google...please take the red pill and choose to watch this

I absolutely love Mises' name being dropped in a positive way in the mainstream media. Even as an an anti-statist/("anarcho capitalist") I support Ron Paul for 2012, and I think this television show, "Freedom Watch" is a superb way to educate the mass public.
@UBSCARED that shit just keeps people beholden to the upper class. It's not free food and health care, it's more expensive lower quality food and health care that the corporate masters can remove at any time. Food Stamps would actually be ok just this once so people don't starve when all shit breaks loose, but in general the policies of the US gvt make food, housing, health care etc really expensive in the name of "helping the little people" but really helping themselves to all their money.
@UBSCARED because inflation is much higher than what they claim it is, first of all. Second, the reason we are able to have even that level of so called growth is by exacerbating the real problems, such as our foreign debt and our failure to allow the market to restructure. Also, even though China is communist, they have long since moved towards capitalism and now the government actually interferes with the economy less in China than it does in the US.
@urdisturbing Explain in exact and extended detail how that is the case. wtf does libertarianism have to do with overpopulation? and what makes overpopulation likely? usually when a population explodes it disperses. as far as genocide that's a eugenics outcome that occurs through population control by a centralized power.
@Ravengaurd6 Thomas Malthus advocated letting the bottom 4% starve to control population. If America elected a libertarian the bottom 4% would also be killed. The process of genocide wouldn't be limited to starvation, however, as allowing the children of poor people who are born with serious illnesses die in the hospital would also be common practice (nobody would pay to treat them, people are greedy).
@Ravengaurd6 And then there is the fact that without government interference all the poor neighbourhoods would be reduced to roadless, sewerless, schoolless slums. If you have never seen a slum thats probably because your SOCIALIST democracy is so effective.
@urdisturbing first of all libertarianism isn't a direct to anarchism though there are sects.second, infrastructure can still be maintained without the state,if anything it would run more efficiently.bureaucrats don't keep things running ENGINEERS do & the amount we'd pay them collectively would be less. we simply want to reduce government to it's necessary role (i.e. military defense and infrastructure).
we want to eradicate its interventions in the market that produce only negative effects.
@urdisturbing when did I say that? of course there will always be poor people! The issue is how they are taken care of! there should be community structures that provide aid for those who've fallen on tough as markets change cause people to move about. effectively these structures would help people get back on their feet and incentivise that they move to different markets. as for those who are poor and can't work they can be cared for by the limited government. that's a tax I'm willing to pay.
@urdisturbing when did I say that? of course there will always be poor people! The issue is how they are taken care of! there should be community structures that provide aid for those who've fallen on tough times as markets change and cause people to move about. effectively these structures would help people get back on their feet and move to different markets. as for those who are poor and can't work they can be cared for by the limited government. that's a tax I'm willing to pay. charity works
@Ravengaurd6 The whole point of capitalism is that people are greedy. If they weren't we wouldn't be having this conversation to begin with. If you were a schizophrenic who needed $2000 a month in medication I don't think you would be comfortable depending on the charity of big buisiness. Big buisiness doesn't give a crap about sick people.
If you don't believe me that people are greedy you are probably one of the Christian tea partiers as opposed to an objectivist tea partier.
@urdisturbing lol. for one thing you're be playing this "greed " thing up to be more than it is. scarcity is to economics what mortality is to medicine. people need resources to live and have to get them one way or another. people look out for their own interests in order to survive, that's universal. greed is when they seek what they don't need to survive. capitalism is about creating and distributing goods and services efficiently through the price system using currency to mediate value.
@Ravengaurd6 What makes you think big buisiness would willingly support poor sick people? How would it be profitable for them to do so? Or if not that, why would they reduce profits to help poor sick people?
@urdisturbing I never said anything about big business caring for anyone. If anything I think they need to be separated from government so that they don't corrupt it with their special interests and corporate welfare that always hurts the populace in the end. the community of people and their pooled demand will either create effective care through market forces or build it under the umbrella of functions that will be the limited government.that would be health care not procured through force.
@Ravengaurd6 Without regulations, unions, or income tax what makes you think big buisiness won't control everything? I think the whole libertarian movement is little more than corporate propaganda. Google Koch brothers.
@urdisturbing Libertarianism isn't trying to completely abolish unions and laws for the common good. income tax needs to be rewritten because we're forced to pay them. unions are needed for pointing out corporate abuses, but our problem with unions is that they manipulate government with special interests that bring down legislation that does more harm to the market and puts more money into their pockets than justice to the labor force.Libertarians have existed for centuries we're legit.
@Ravengaurd6 Look up the history of the word "Libertarian." It originally meant anarcho-communist. Noam Chomsky is my favorite Libertarian.
I know that abolishon of unions is not official RP policy, but he does want to take away all their legislative protection. Unions cannot count on the public for support because all the major media outlets are owned by people who hate unions, so taking away their protection is no different from killing them.
@urdisturbing wait. the dictionary says that a libertarian is,and I quote: "an advocate of the doctrine of free will "...hence the root of the word Libert(y)->arian. \: ) I'm using the current meaning for the term. under rule of the people unions could still stand for themselves, but their biggest issue is that they drive up costs so that it's cheaper to operate outside of country or in other states & it's still wrong to sieze a business by force and foolish to demand unaffordable wages.
@urdisturbing the fact that they've appeared solely as a result of growing business, creation of business, and improved education.not government. businesses are not so stupid as to pay their workers wages they wouldn't work for! hiring is a mutual process regardless of the situation of the prospective worker. when the worker sees that the current wages of a business are not to his liking he moves on. in order to get skilled workers, business raise wages to attract people that are worth the pay.
@Ravengaurd6 In the 19th century even Republicans acknowledged that Wage Slavery was no different from other kinds of slavery. If a person must work long hours for little pay with no safety standards or health benifits, they are not free.
"the fact that they've appeared solely as a result of growing business, creation of business, and improved education" By improved education I assume you mean public education.
Why didn't the middle class exist before unions and income tax?
@urdisturbing growth of businesses that lead to increase in jobs and wages did help create the middle class.people didn't just sleep.peoples lives improved along with their behavior. they had more because they saved more. public education didn't always suck. Our standards were high and those who didn't reach those standards actually felt the bite of failure and discipline. other than that private schooling was already there. the correlation with the tax and unions is not the causation.
@Ravengaurd6 If you acknowledge that Wage Slavery exists, and I don't see you can learn about history and not, then capitalist libertarianism is bunk.
"those who didn't reach those standards actually felt the bite of failure and discipline" Those who were born with disabilities also felt the bite of failure and discipline through no fault of their own. I think this is unjust. If I were born with a disability I wouldn't want to be regarded as worthless. I believe in the Golden Rule.
@urdisturbing that is if your disability actually holds you back. just claiming that your disability is the reason for your failure justifies the practice of not giving disabled people the right to work because they are. the concept of wage slavery is foolosih due to the fact that prices businesses set are determined by market forces. usualy when unions are granted their higher wages it's at the cost of the jobs of other workers(usually non-union ones that are barred from their protection.)
@Ravengaurd6 Once again, if you must work long hours for little pay with no saftey regulations or health benifits or else your family will starve you are no better than a slave. Why do you think 19th century Republicans admitted this?
Sure, not all disabilities hold people back, but some of them do. If you don't know that schizophrenia is a serious, treatable illness you are an idiot. If you know thats it real and you just don't care, you're a sociopath.
@urdisturbing you know what, I love and your willingness so far to carry on an intelligible argument really turns me on,but what you just said is the dumbest thing you've said all night. capitalism doesn't motivate people to act in their own self interests; it allows them to. the need to survive is a given. the price system satisfies it most efficiently. it allows people to communicate to one another the goods and services they can exchange to live. slavery is force, trade is voluntary.
@Ravengaurd6 Yes, I know, nobody is ever forced to work. If it's work or starve you're wrong, the force is just as real. If you are born into a poor family that can't afford school, you aren't free, you are screwed from the start.
I didn't mean that capitalism always equals slavery, though there are periods in history when it has, but rather that just because it causes people to work hard doesn't mean it is a moral system. I think economic progress is pointless without moral progress.
@urdisturbing that's true about the moral progress and that progress should function within and amongst the people and not be mimiced utilized by government to lie and tyrannize. it is never slavery to work to live. Communities are the best to care for an individual, not the state. it is slavery to be brutalized and forced to work or give up the fruit of work to achieve the ends of another for absolutely nothing in return.
@Ravengaurd6 I have anarchist tendencies, by which I mean I consider authority to be inherently unethical. but first and foremost I am a pragmatist, which means I support the system of that I think will work best. I think it was shown during the industrial revolution that lassaiz-fair capitalism isn't this system. Charles Dickens wrote a few novels about the working class during this era and they weren't pretty.
@urdisturbing free markets are far from perfect but they avoid the atrocious results of command economies that force prices and manage resources with error margins o f60 to 80%,leading to death and degradation.
it takes an economist to gauge how the people interact and community/cultural groupings(hopefully with an economic understanding) to direct peoples activities towards moral needs and represent their concerns to other communities. what people struggled through in the past made the present.
Ron Paul I am surprised at your comment About Obama not a main fault - That war mongered money spending mongol spent more and invaded more foreign countries than any past selected con man that pretends to want to be free from foreign oil Independence when the the govern Mentalists roll $70.00 a barrow right off the top from the American peoples wallets, Get real or at the least stay real tied of political excuses from outright traders on American soil in the face of our people.
Even if for some crazy reason you disagree with this man. He still has the most integrity and honesty of any man on the Hill in some time. He is principled and will give you a straight answer every time. That is the characteristic of a President. Almost regardless of political affiliation.
@86THECRITIC people would have more money obviously if we didn't have an income tax, but the government wouldn't have any money any longer to screw up our education, health care, foreign relations, and to wage wars that we don't need. this country used to not have an income tax, for quite a while actually.
@86THECRITIC Abolishing income tax would make you and your father and your mother as well as your brother and sisters richer! More money on our pockets means richer Americans! And you don't have to go through the trouble of filing your income tax each year? Why are you promoting a more difficult life? I JUST DO'N'T GET IT? DO YOU ENJOY BEING POOR, AND YOUR MONEY TAKEN AWAY? Think for a change, you're just like the morons who voted Bush twice! Time to wake up! Hello????
@stockmaster1982 It would make many others simultaneously poorer. I'm not poor at all. Income tax is nothing to me and I am making 10 dollars an hour filling out orders. Life is hard. Get used to it. If you take away income tax, it could be worse.
@86THECRITIC You don't have any good reasons telling me why it will get will worse? Perhaps you don't know the reason, but you just don't like the idea! I think it's wonderful idea, The government takes away 40% of taxes, and you wonder why we're struggling with debt? Give us back our 40% of cash and maybe we won't be struggling too much.. How does taking money away from us is suppose to make us rich? I just don't understand that logic? And you're not rich dude ur only making 10 an hour..
@stockmaster1982 Because, in the big picture, people will lose their jobs and it will be 10 times harder to get a loan. It will also be much harder for those working in the government who make almost nothing as it is, particularly soldiers. People aren't struggling because of taxes at all. Income is 30, by the way. The reason people are struggling has more to do with personal choices. And it is constitutional. They ruled that back in the 19th century...

Liberty?
DrFruedienslip 4 months ago
@DrFruedienslip Allright, I agree with you that our debt is too high, but that's just another reason why abolishing the income tax is an outright absurd notion. And I would love to reduce lobbyist influence in our government, that's one of the reasons why I support Barack Obama, because he HAS reduced lobbyist influence in the government.
Taxation was never supposed to be voluntary. Like Ben Franklin said, "there is nothing more certain than death or taxes."
AWesome61696 4 months ago
@AWesome61696 A little too late dont you think, there is no doubt that there is a movement which has been taking place every since the IMF has been exposed' however, the debt has nothing to do with having provided any vialble services for the people' its a corporate entity and should never be seen as any burden to the people who didnt vote for anything done by this government. There is simply far too much going on here than what meets the eye' and this is not 1776' but 2011

@AWesome61696 Your right you cant stop taking in money if you don't stop spending!
Zodiakwarrior 2 months ago
@AWesome61696 that's what spring cleaning is for. take away the superfluous departments and the global police state and suddenly the budget's not so big!
chadimus84 2 months ago
@chadimus84 Well can we do away with the rederick and sarcasim for a moment? When you mean "take away the superfluos departments" do you mean reduce the bureacracy by combining departments but spend the same ammount of money? Because that isn't nowhere near balancing the budget. Or do you mean eliminate those departments' expenditures all together, because that's the entire budget right there.
The best way to balance the budget is to reduce defense spending and overseas wars.

DreamTiger5 7 months ago
@DreamTiger5 Wow ur a fucking idiot. Half of your so-called firefighters and cops are lazy faty fucks that need a manual laobor job to lose the fat. kmitchem4 7 months ago

@u7alll Yeah, he's the complete opposite; if he has his way, the military will be severely diminished, potentially leaving us open to attack.
DreamTiger5 7 months ago
@DreamTiger5 why do americans always exaggerate so much? dont worry man just because the US army isnt getting 600 billion a year dosent mean your in danger, its just means your not in debt. and besides who would really try and attack the US apart from terrorists. and they cant escape the middle east from the troops already there.
u7alll 7 months ago
@u7alll Unless he pulls them out before they've settled down, which seems pretty likely, especially if he slashes military funding when we aren't putting nearly as much into the treasury as we should be. I'm not saying we should declare war on everybody that's a threat, as that would be suicidal; just that we should keep a presence in said nations without getting too involved. And bringing all our soldiers back won't get us out of debt. Not by a long shot.
DreamTiger5 7 months ago
@u7alll Our national debt is in the trillions, and even if the military was completely disbanded (which will never happen, I would hope, as Paul is a former pilot) it would take an extremely long time to pay off without income tax. In the meantime it's causing all sorts of economic problems.
I don't get all this stuff about the GOP and Federal Reserve, but abolishing our income tax with a debt that big is suicide.
DreamTiger5 7 months ago
@DreamTiger5 well i know it seems that way. but the whole reason america actually mattered was at the end of the 1800's where they acuumulated quite a bit of money they managed to do cool shit. and besides is there any proof of a country suffering from aboloshing income tax with debt

Getting rid of the income tax? ROFL! Like that will ever happen...
aieljose 7 months ago
@aieljose What makes you so sure it'll never change. Is it really that inconceivable?
After all it is a Fiat system 98 years old. Bernanke said Gold isn't money. AHA!!
SirVaughnElric 7 months ago
@SirVaughnElric Well where is the government going to find the extra spending money to compensate for the loss in revenue? Im no economist but i think the governmet spends a bit more than they did back in 1914. They would have to seriously cut down on spending. Usually when government cut spending the first to go are social workers like teachers and police officers. Don't really think that's a good idea.
aieljose 7 months ago
@aieljose 5 Wars and you are worried about social workers....42 cents out of every dollar is borrowed to finance the spending, the income tax just goes to pay the interest on the debt. Imagine that, the bankers have everyone fooled...the whole system is bottom up meaning the bottom pays and the top earns. Welcome to msilatipac!!
vincentca2004 7 months ago
@SirVaughnElric Berkanke was mainly correct when he said gold isn't money. Gold acts as a medium who's value hardly changes. That makes it a safer investment than the dollar which fluctuates up and down like crazy. That's why most countries keep their gold rather than sell it. If you're dollar goes to shit, you know you're gold will always have high value.
aieljose 7 months ago
@aieljose Gold will have a value of what? some dollar amount? So gold is only valuable if you can turn it into money, if money is valueless than so is your gold.
Justwosweet 7 months ago
@Justwosweet So money is valueless? When did this happen?
aieljose 7 months ago
@aieljose Not what I said. If money is valueless so is gold.
Justwosweet 7 months ago
@Justwosweet I'm starting to think you're retarded. The fact that my dollar is worth nothing is irrelevant. Even if my dollar is worth 0 i can still barter my gold to other countries because it will always have value. My money might be worth nothing but that doesn't mean everybody elses will.
aieljose 7 months ago
@aieljose Missed the point, its 98yr fiat system, It's a scam, We're not on the gold standard, we're on the print fake money for oil and war profiteering standard.
We don't economize anything we waste everything and push it on the poor. Money is for the apathetic who don't care who it hurts as long as they make a profit in their eyes. The ones who empathize don't care about money at all, which is why their so bad with it. They'll give it up to help a fellow man in need.

thealmassi1 8 months ago
@thealmassi1 I absolutely agree. Unless corporations want to pay more and offer health care insurance. But also, if you eleminate the income taxes, you're going down a dangerous path. This country is very socialized as it is, and for the most part works well. Lifeguards, firefighters, police, military, local parks and national parks maintanence, building our transportation system, stipend programs for lower class citizens, etc. So long as we have the monetary system in place, taxes are a must
Reasonwillprevail14 8 months ago
@thealmassi1 that's completely untrue. This big government is not protecting the poor. It is causing more and more economic disaster which means there is more unemployment, more poor people, and the middle class is becoming poorer everyday. Study Ron Paul's position more carefully. He is not talking sensationally about getting rid of the income tax, he is talking about an entire change in policy that will help the country economically and socially.

trentmanslow 8 months ago
@UBSCARED that shit just keeps people beholden to the upper class. It's not free food and health care, it's more expensive lower quality food and health care that the corporate masters can remove at any time. Food Stamps would actually be ok just this once so people don't starve when all shit breaks loose, but in general the policies of the US gvt make food, housing, health care etc really expensive in the name of "helping the little people" but really helping themselves to all their money.
samqueler 8 months ago
@samqueler I see you can see straight through the bull shit.. Welcome
Takeastand26 8 months ago
@UBSCARED because inflation is much higher than what they claim it is, first of all. Second, the reason we are able to have even that level of so called growth is by exacerbating the real problems, such as our foreign debt and our failure to allow the market to restructure. Also, even though China is communist, they have long since moved towards capitalism and now the government actually interferes with the economy less in China than it does in the US.

libertarianism = malthusian genocide
urdisturbing 8 months ago
@urdisturbing There is no genocide as a Libertarian, let everybody fight there own wars dang it...
JesusSaves1984 8 months ago
@JesusSaves1984 Look up the word "Malthusian." I don't think you understood what I meant.
urdisturbing 8 months ago
@urdisturbing Explain in exact and extended detail how that is the case. wtf does libertarianism have to do with overpopulation? and what makes overpopulation likely? usually when a population explodes it disperses. as far as genocide that's a eugenics outcome that occurs through population control by a centralized power.
Ravengaurd6 8 months ago
@Ravengaurd6 Thomas Malthus advocated letting the bottom 4% starve to control population. If America elected a libertarian the bottom 4% would also be killed. The process of genocide wouldn't be limited to starvation, however, as allowing the children of poor people who are born with serious illnesses die in the hospital would also be common practice (nobody would pay to treat them, people are greedy).
urdisturbing 8 months ago
@Ravengaurd6 And then there is the fact that without government interference all the poor neighbourhoods would be reduced to roadless, sewerless, schoolless slums. If you have never seen a slum thats probably because your SOCIALIST democracy is so effective.
urdisturbing 8 months ago
@urdisturbing first of all libertarianism isn't a direct to anarchism though there are sects.second, infrastructure can still be maintained without the state,if anything it would run more efficiently.bureaucrats don't keep things running ENGINEERS do & the amount we'd pay them collectively would be less. we simply want to reduce government to it's necessary role (i.e. military defense and infrastructure).
we want to eradicate its interventions in the market that produce only negative effects.
Ravengaurd6 8 months ago
@Ravengaurd6 Who would pay for the infrastructure, schools and hospitals for poor people?
urdisturbing 8 months ago
@Ravengaurd6 And don't tell me that in a free market nobody would be poor. Thats stupid.
urdisturbing 8 months ago
@urdisturbing when did I say that? of course there will always be poor people! The issue is how they are taken care of! there should be community structures that provide aid for those who've fallen on tough as markets change cause people to move about. effectively these structures would help people get back on their feet and incentivise that they move to different markets. as for those who are poor and can't work they can be cared for by the limited government. that's a tax I'm willing to pay.
Ravengaurd6 8 months ago
@urdisturbing when did I say that? of course there will always be poor people! The issue is how they are taken care of! there should be community structures that provide aid for those who've fallen on tough times as markets change and cause people to move about. effectively these structures would help people get back on their feet and move to different markets. as for those who are poor and can't work they can be cared for by the limited government. that's a tax I'm willing to pay. charity works
Ravengaurd6 8 months ago
@Ravengaurd6 The whole point of capitalism is that people are greedy. If they weren't we wouldn't be having this conversation to begin with. If you were a schizophrenic who needed $2000 a month in medication I don't think you would be comfortable depending on the charity of big buisiness. Big buisiness doesn't give a crap about sick people.
If you don't believe me that people are greedy you are probably one of the Christian tea partiers as opposed to an objectivist tea partier.
urdisturbing 8 months ago
@urdisturbing lol. for one thing you're be playing this "greed " thing up to be more than it is. scarcity is to economics what mortality is to medicine. people need resources to live and have to get them one way or another. people look out for their own interests in order to survive, that's universal. greed is when they seek what they don't need to survive. capitalism is about creating and distributing goods and services efficiently through the price system using currency to mediate value.
Ravengaurd6 8 months ago
@Ravengaurd6 What makes you think big buisiness would willingly support poor sick people? How would it be profitable for them to do so? Or if not that, why would they reduce profits to help poor sick people?
urdisturbing 8 months ago
@urdisturbing I never said anything about big business caring for anyone. If anything I think they need to be separated from government so that they don't corrupt it with their special interests and corporate welfare that always hurts the populace in the end. the community of people and their pooled demand will either create effective care through market forces or build it under the umbrella of functions that will be the limited government.that would be health care not procured through force.
Ravengaurd6 8 months ago
@Ravengaurd6 Without regulations, unions, or income tax what makes you think big buisiness won't control everything? I think the whole libertarian movement is little more than corporate propaganda. Google Koch brothers.
urdisturbing 8 months ago
@urdisturbing Libertarianism isn't trying to completely abolish unions and laws for the common good. income tax needs to be rewritten because we're forced to pay them. unions are needed for pointing out corporate abuses, but our problem with unions is that they manipulate government with special interests that bring down legislation that does more harm to the market and puts more money into their pockets than justice to the labor force.Libertarians have existed for centuries we're legit.
Ravengaurd6 8 months ago
@Ravengaurd6 Look up the history of the word "Libertarian." It originally meant anarcho-communist. Noam Chomsky is my favorite Libertarian.
I know that abolishon of unions is not official RP policy, but he does want to take away all their legislative protection. Unions cannot count on the public for support because all the major media outlets are owned by people who hate unions, so taking away their protection is no different from killing them.
urdisturbing 8 months ago
@urdisturbing wait. the dictionary says that a libertarian is,and I quote: "an advocate of the doctrine of free will "...hence the root of the word Libert(y)->arian. \: ) I'm using the current meaning for the term. under rule of the people unions could still stand for themselves, but their biggest issue is that they drive up costs so that it's cheaper to operate outside of country or in other states & it's still wrong to sieze a business by force and foolish to demand unaffordable wages.
Ravengaurd6 8 months ago
@Ravengaurd6 What makes you think the middle class won't disappear without regulations, unions, and income tax?

@urdisturbing the fact that they've appeared solely as a result of growing business, creation of business, and improved education.not government. businesses are not so stupid as to pay their workers wages they wouldn't work for! hiring is a mutual process regardless of the situation of the prospective worker. when the worker sees that the current wages of a business are not to his liking he moves on. in order to get skilled workers, business raise wages to attract people that are worth the pay.
Ravengaurd6 8 months ago
@Ravengaurd6 In the 19th century even Republicans acknowledged that Wage Slavery was no different from other kinds of slavery. If a person must work long hours for little pay with no safety standards or health benifits, they are not free.
"the fact that they've appeared solely as a result of growing business, creation of business, and improved education" By improved education I assume you mean public education.
Why didn't the middle class exist before unions and income tax?
urdisturbing 8 months ago
@urdisturbing growth of businesses that lead to increase in jobs and wages did help create the middle class.people didn't just sleep.peoples lives improved along with their behavior. they had more because they saved more. public education didn't always suck. Our standards were high and those who didn't reach those standards actually felt the bite of failure and discipline. other than that private schooling was already there. the correlation with the tax and unions is not the causation.
Ravengaurd6 8 months ago
@Ravengaurd6 If you acknowledge that Wage Slavery exists, and I don't see you can learn about history and not, then capitalist libertarianism is bunk.
"those who didn't reach those standards actually felt the bite of failure and discipline" Those who were born with disabilities also felt the bite of failure and discipline through no fault of their own. I think this is unjust. If I were born with a disability I wouldn't want to be regarded as worthless. I believe in the Golden Rule.
urdisturbing 8 months ago
@urdisturbing that is if your disability actually holds you back. just claiming that your disability is the reason for your failure justifies the practice of not giving disabled people the right to work because they are. the concept of wage slavery is foolosih due to the fact that prices businesses set are determined by market forces. usualy when unions are granted their higher wages it's at the cost of the jobs of other workers(usually non-union ones that are barred from their protection.)
Ravengaurd6 8 months ago
@Ravengaurd6 Once again, if you must work long hours for little pay with no saftey regulations or health benifits or else your family will starve you are no better than a slave. Why do you think 19th century Republicans admitted this?
Sure, not all disabilities hold people back, but some of them do. If you don't know that schizophrenia is a serious, treatable illness you are an idiot. If you know thats it real and you just don't care, you're a sociopath.
urdisturbing 8 months ago
@Ravengaurd6 Yes, capitalism is effective in motivating people to work. Then again, so is slavery. This does not make it a moral system.
urdisturbing 8 months ago
@urdisturbing you know what, I love and your willingness so far to carry on an intelligible argument really turns me on,but what you just said is the dumbest thing you've said all night. capitalism doesn't motivate people to act in their own self interests; it allows them to. the need to survive is a given. the price system satisfies it most efficiently. it allows people to communicate to one another the goods and services they can exchange to live. slavery is force, trade is voluntary.
Ravengaurd6 8 months ago
@Ravengaurd6 Yes, I know, nobody is ever forced to work. If it's work or starve you're wrong, the force is just as real. If you are born into a poor family that can't afford school, you aren't free, you are screwed from the start.
I didn't mean that capitalism always equals slavery, though there are periods in history when it has, but rather that just because it causes people to work hard doesn't mean it is a moral system. I think economic progress is pointless without moral progress.
urdisturbing 8 months ago
@urdisturbing that's true about the moral progress and that progress should function within and amongst the people and not be mimiced utilized by government to lie and tyrannize. it is never slavery to work to live. Communities are the best to care for an individual, not the state. it is slavery to be brutalized and forced to work or give up the fruit of work to achieve the ends of another for absolutely nothing in return.
Ravengaurd6 8 months ago
@Ravengaurd6 I have anarchist tendencies, by which I mean I consider authority to be inherently unethical. but first and foremost I am a pragmatist, which means I support the system of that I think will work best. I think it was shown during the industrial revolution that lassaiz-fair capitalism isn't this system. Charles Dickens wrote a few novels about the working class during this era and they weren't pretty.
urdisturbing 8 months ago
@urdisturbing free markets are far from perfect but they avoid the atrocious results of command economies that force prices and manage resources with error margins o f60 to 80%,leading to death and degradation.
it takes an economist to gauge how the people interact and community/cultural groupings(hopefully with an economic understanding) to direct peoples activities towards moral needs and represent their concerns to other communities. what people struggled through in the past made the present.

Americans need to grow up and accept the fact that they need to rule their own lives. Stop expecting government to provide everything for you.

Even if for some crazy reason you disagree with this man. He still has the most integrity and honesty of any man on the Hill in some time. He is principled and will give you a straight answer every time. That is the characteristic of a President. Almost regardless of political affiliation.

Yes yes, Abolish the Income tax, and become a poorer nation...
86THECRITIC 8 months ago

Hello????
stockmaster1982 8 months ago
@stockmaster1982 It would make many others simultaneously poorer. I'm not poor at all. Income tax is nothing to me and I am making 10 dollars an hour filling out orders. Life is hard. Get used to it. If you take away income tax, it could be worse.
86THECRITIC 8 months ago
@86THECRITIC You don't have any good reasons telling me why it will get will worse? Perhaps you don't know the reason, but you just don't like the idea! I think it's wonderful idea, The government takes away 40% of taxes, and you wonder why we're struggling with debt? Give us back our 40% of cash and maybe we won't be struggling too much.. How does taking money away from us is suppose to make us rich? I just don't understand that logic? And you're not rich dude ur only making 10 an hour..
stockmaster1982 8 months ago
@stockmaster1982 Because, in the big picture, people will lose their jobs and it will be 10 times harder to get a loan. It will also be much harder for those working in the government who make almost nothing as it is, particularly soldiers. People aren't struggling because of taxes at all. Income is 30, by the way. The reason people are struggling has more to do with personal choices. And it is constitutional. They ruled that back in the 19th century...
