yo tengo un gran dilema, y es: quiero empezar en el mundo de la gaita, pero dudo entre la medieval y la gallega, por dos razones. No se en que afinacion cogerla, no me gusta demasiado aguda, pero quiero que pueda sonar bien viva cuando suene un tema rapido, pero pueda sonar tambien apagada en alguno como "stella splendens" no se que afinacion puede ser un intermedio.

La otra, es que en los centros gallegos dan clases de gaita, pero dudo que las den de gaita medieval...

Supongo que està afinado el ronco, pero a veces al gravarlo suena distinto de como suena en directo i lo sé por experiéncia, quizà deberías probar de gravarte con la camara un pelín alejada i ponla encima de una alfombrilla de ratón para matar las vibraciones que se producen. Pero suena fenomenal!!

Yes since highlnad pipes are played (scottish) half open/closed while gaitas are playend with open fingering.

Gaita it's a very abstract name, there are many different bagpipes or gaitas. Each bagpipe has got a fingering (galician, asturian, highland, irish...) and each family of bagpipes also can have different subtypes depending of the tuning of the chanter and drones...for example, in the galician pipes, you can hear about "gaita redonda" in C, "gaita grileira" in D and "gaita tumbal" in Bb or flatter.

The world of bagpipes is amazing and very very "big" hahaha. Hope you understood all I said.

As Dave said, there are different "gaitas" whcih have different fingering systems. Contemporary Galician gaitas tend to be open fingering. The Asturian and older Galician typically use some closed fingering. The Asturian has closed on the left hand and open on the right.

Eyyy compañero. Soy el que diseñé esta gaita :). Espero que la disfrutes tanto como yo. Lo más difícil de esta gaita es que para que suena bien, debe estar "perfectamente" afinada, luego, a pasarlo bien.
