I thank my beloved teacher Maria Stader for all she gave me, for my singing and for my live! She was a real Diva and a great Personality. Through her i've become legal successor of the 'Genealogical Tree of Belcanto since 1659', a non interrupted line of teaching from Master to Student which you can follow back until to the founder of the Art of Belcanto, Pistocchi. Such a pleasure to hear my favourite studio Pamina singing the repertoire she did so well! That Janowitz-y purity but with an edge to it that makes it naturally dramatic

I first heard her on my short wave radio. I found a broadcast of Christ on the Mount of Olives, and Maria singing. The music was coming from a USSR broadcast. I was unfamiliar with the music and though it was a Soviet composition. I thought I was in heaven. There can be nothing more beautiful that Maria's voice.
