  • The only way for this to be disliked is if your heart stopped and your head made the mouse hit the dislike button.

  • @MaverickTylerRay Then that happened to one person already

  • One of my all time favorites music composer God Bless you John Williams

  • John William's write's his a** OFF!!! I am listening to this and the visions of the exact points where this music is utilized in the movie is etched into my memory. THAT'S THE POWER OF MUSIC!!!

  • we have zero dislikes because the Empire was defeated! =D

  • A long time ago, in an orchestra far, far away...

  • Make him stopppppppppppppp, my ears aren't designed to hear music from this legend.

  • Legend! Enough said...

  • john williams is truly one of the best composers this world has ever laid eyes/ears on.

  • wow O_O

  • Can someone please tell me the purpose of the conductor. I know John writes these scores. They're obviously his ideas and they're brilliant but I mean what purpose does he serve by standing there moving his hands with that stick. I mean they're not even looking at him. They have a piece of paper and they're following it. WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE CONDUCTOR???? :)

  • @MrDetwaa they ARE looking at him. The conductor keeps the time, tells sections to get louder or softer, and much more. Why not look up conductor on Wikipedia or something before making yourself look silly!?

  • @MrDetwaa he delivers it to feel the music on how it goes perfectly.. :)))

  • @MrDetwaa Do you mean the conductor in general or John Williams in particular ?

  • @MrDetwaa as far as i know - he is a certain translator of the rhythmic grid. for instance every music(almost) has rhythm. And the conductor - can tackle with it and later it to a certain degree...To create a certain version of the music played...from a rhythmical point of view...Theats why every classic - as we see here - can sound differently depending of the conductor.

  • @MrDetwaa the conductor is the one giving the beat and he monitors the players (tells certain sections of the orchestra to play louder or quieter)

  • @MrDetwaa If you've ever seen rehearsals, you'll see what purpose they serve. They get the members to play small segments and "correct" the musicians and mold the overall interpretation. The musicians make notes in their music sheets, and take note in their memories. The conductor, having had a significant influence on how the piece sounds, performs with the orchestra and ensures his or her input is followed by giving cues and keeping beat.

  • To guide, manipulate and pace an orchestra to the music score in front of him - a musician is trained in the corner of their eye to watch a white stick amd where it is white is easily visible to be seen (as in the blind world - it's called a baton btw) and for an orchestra to be playing under the baton of a creator will produce sounds, just as was intended...

  • @TheDARREN0369 Some great conductors don't use a baton.

  • @MrDetwaa It's like saying what's the point of a general in an army. The soldiers do all the fighting, but the General has to keep them in line. The conductor keeps the musicians playing in line. He keeps the beat, makes sure they don't speed up, leads certain people into there parts, shows crescendos, and diminuendos, (Louder and softer) and help close the piece. Sure the orchestra can play without the conductor, but after a little while, it would all fall apart.

  • @MrDetwaa Lol, join an amateur orchestra for a season, then try and imagine the season without the conductor. You'll know what the purpose is then.

  • @MrDetwaa For your sake. delete this comment...

  • @MrDetwaa Look closely, he's actually 1 or 2 seconds ahead of the music. It's like navigator in rally cars, he's showing them how to play certain parts.

  • @MrDetwaa The orchestra needs someone to follow to stay in synch. Its just natural to speed up of slow down. The conductor is the metronome. At rehearsal, he sets tempos and dynamics. A great orchestra does not need over-conducting (too many gestures) just someone to keep time and do important cues. They need to drive the cues and musical changes. Now, what is the conductor is horrible? Here is a secret: the orchestra will follow the first chair violin. A bad conductor is to be ignored!

  • @MrDetwaa In choral conducting, the conductor needs to give a bit more direction. Sometimes there are more nuances and many different schools of thought on sound production. Singers seem to work better off of more gesturing instead of less. If you have a bad choral conductor, then things can really fall apart. Sometimes choirs can be more amateurish, as people can sing without having to read notes, unlike with other instruments. Hope my answers help!

  • de las mejores bandas sonoras, por favor. John Williams es un compositor increible.

  • @forevernorthstars Amen!!

  • @forevernorthstars hear, hear!

  • Even before the music stared, I had chills.

  • As if he really needs to turn the pages on his score. He doesn't even look at it to turn the pages lol.

  • Simply, the Master!

  • Listen to XIXth Century "The Planets" by Gustav Holst, especially "Mars, the Bringer of War". It's shockingly similar to this in spirit. No doubt where did Williams get his inspiration.

  • LOVE the music of course but man I had no idea his conducting was so...weird. As a musician (amateur, but still) it looks to me like he would be quite hard to follow.

  • this is magic..

  • The one part of the movie that exceeded George Lucas's expectations...the EPIC score! This movie wouldn't have worked without it.

    Love you John Williams!

  • @bruiserteta That is very true

  • The whole time he's conducting he's thinking "Yeah, I wrote this"

  • The whole time hes up there hes like "yeah, I wrote this"

    this is bloody brilliant

  • Just shows that some people have the musical knowledge and intuition to make a fantastic score from an idea from a script

  • @dave36464736 tienes toda la razon, porque alguna veces la musica va escena por escena, aunque otras, hay que imaginarsela a partir de un guion como tu dices.

  • Pujante regência e simpática,maravilhosa Orquestra!

  • John Williams composed the music for my childhood.

  • john williams is like the best composer ever. he created all the music to my favorite movies :)

  • Eargasm!

  • honestly the best rendition of the star wars theme that I have heard.

  • Whew..I agree Starwars theme music would haven't had the feeling that John Williams put into that piece....this orchestra is also to be commended for it's fine performance.

  • awesome

  • awesome awesome awesome awesome

  • Without John William's music, Star Wars wouldn't have been even half as successful as it was and still is.

  • @Elmgren76 I agree.

  • IKR! Just imagine it without the music..Boy, I myself cannot really imagine Star Wars without John Williams.

  • @studentquestor bloody hell i no what u mean

  • This is and will always be EPIC!!!

  • Boston Pops + John Williams= pure awesomeness!

  • John Williams and The Boston Pops: A perfect combination

  • Sin duda alguna que es una pieza que marco la historia filmica. Es un tema obligado para cualquier clase de musica sinfonica. La creatividad del maestro John Williams es evidente en cada una de sus composiciones, que pareciera que las saca de algun baul secreto.

  • 1. London Symphony Orchestra

    2. Boston Symphony Orchestra

    The best "Star Wars" version

The brass section is the best I've heard so far

Only John Williams can bring movies soundtracks to life!!!!!
