2.You haven't told me your processer because it matters a lot you

should have at least intel pentium dual core 2ghz

my still lags alot too and i have:

Windows 7 Ultimate x64

AMD Phenom X4 2.41 GHz Quad Core

4 gb ram ddr2

Nvidia GeForce 8800gt

Get a new pc at least 2 core processor at a frequency of 3 GHz and then the problem will not go PS2 game.

Up there with no problem, you can run PS1 games psx2 but unfortunately not.

First problem: Vista x86, get a 64bit XP or Vista. PCSX2 somehow runs better for me on 64bit.

Second Problem: Processor. 1.8GHZ DC is not enough. 3.0 GHZ or something like that

Third problem: Video Card, 9600GT 512MB at least for full speed

and remove the vista put an xp sp2 pro on it,you will get more speed on pcsx :)

guys, ima tell in short, my comp's graphic card is 8800 gt and i got not prob with the comp part, its dam fast i got it new, just help me, my emulator is PCSX2 0.9.1 TLB (Non VM) And im tryin to play MGS2 on it... The game is EXTREMELY SLOW... The fps at first is abt 100 and when u enter the game, its abt 1-5 fps WTF! (i aint usin ZeroGs)

I'm an extreme psycho fan of mgs if u help me make it a'ight it'll be heaven!

WHY USE the 0.9.1 version which is OLD AS CRAP AND USELESS instead of the 0.9.5 which is the CURRENT version and with which I run every game at 60fps with my 8800gtx 768mb and q6600 and 2gb ram?

You probably have too much crap running in the background.

Download a program called "CrapCleaner" to disable un-needed things that will start up with Windows.

Also, you might want to check out a program called System Mechanic 6. It will "degfrag" your ram and basically kill anything that may still be running, but doesn't show up in task manager.

Playstation 2 emulation is much more demanding than playstation 1 emulation. So the system requirements are much higher than if you were playing a regular pc verson of these games. It does depend on the game and the settings/plugins you have, but it general you need a beast of a machine to run at high speed. Also, PS2 emulation is prett new, so a lot of games don't fully work yet, are have lots of bugs that slow them down.
