  • Phkn rookies!! Typical baboons! Tents woulda been just fine. Work smart not hard

  • Ci vuole coraggio a fare trial con una rulotte complimenti al vecchietto e alla bionda...

  • Enjoyed that, thanks.

  • predictable outcome the kitted out land rover broke down while the stock standard cruiser made it, while towing a trailer....

  • reduce tyre pressure!!!

  • bella idea di merda portare la rulotte

  • I'm trying to decide what's funnier, Off-roading with a caravan or the title of the video.

  • I just don't get how the caravan is kitted out, but the 4x4 is stock for something as extreme as this..?? It's almost like the caravan should be pulling the 4x4 around!

  • FEST HOS MANGE

  • Should have used a Land Rover product....

  • What a crock !!! Just watching this makes me feel embarrassed that I drive a 4x4 and that I drive these trails as well. I like the comment 0:45 that no rocks were damaged during this production, just brilliant, but driving off the track and stuffing up the rest of the environment is not mentioned. Dankie Willie en die cowboys !!!

  • very good movie.....verry pretty lady and the best car ever TOYOTA LAND CRUISER HDJ 76!!

  • Does this old farts expect that road tires will do the job? 4x4 gurus MY ASS???

  • @8tgr Road tires would work perfect on rocks and sand> I am not saying these guys are not idios thou. YourP perfect example of the people of gauteng that ''knows'' everything from 4x4ing. My question is just why would they not use a Jeep?Jeeps are at home on the rocks. I am not just saying this but it would have made it a lot easier seeing that these people do not realy know what they are doing. 4x4 depends 70% on your drivung skills and 30% on your vehicle.

  • well road tires rule on rocks and sand. also the facted that he towed that caravan so far in be for the land cruiser brok should be proof that they know what there doning more so then you do. so shove it

  • shoulda just taken the 110 with a roof tent u fookin retards landcruiser first fail!!!!!

land cruiser on motorway tyres second fail thinkin u have the slightest clue what u thought u were doing FAIL!!!!!

  • Now they are what's know as sterio typical South Africa Dutchman!! (Dutchmen as derogatory as the 'N' word) What a bunch of fucking idiots. To the idiot that bent the steering rod - you realy think you were going to be able to straighten it?? Think about it.....that Defender 110 weighs about 2 tons. You were driving at about 15mph. The total force on that rod, on impact, was possibly in the region of at least 5 tons!

  • Which car was better the land cruiser or the land rover??

  • what language is this? is like chinese

  • i want that land cruiser

  • 4x4 guru my ass, my gf could 4 wheel better and she can barely drive a damn car

  • ma come cazzo si fa

  • A very good documentary on how to destroy your vehicle, and the environment.

    Appalling.

  • @Dwealdric . What a load of nonesense, you little dramatic closet queen

  • they seem like professional 4x4 experts (GURU). Was I the only one that picked up that they didn't even seem to lower tyre pressures for the first half of the vid

  • this is one of the toughest expedition I have watched. Bravehearts

  • whats at the end of the baboons pass?... Baboon shit?...

  • looks fun...i think I would have gone with a more aggresive tire but I understand the need to just try it with a stock Toyota as well.

  • Land Cruiser need another tires!

  • Having some decent off road tyres would make all the differance those are highway tyres totally unsuitable for what they are trying to do .Check on you tube and type in ...kedron caravans and see how we do it in Australia

  • You guys really are fcking stupid. Please sell those landrovers and stop harrasing that mountain.

  • you dont must be crazy, but it helps! lol!

  • 4x4 GURUS my ass!

  • haha good way to ruin a nice truck! why not give it some after market goodies first so u dont break it! maybe a bit of lift some tires and a locker or two. this is just silly and giving the off roading community a bad name. u guys suck

  • What a bunch of idiots, especially the guy driving the land cruiser, is he even looking at where he is driving?

  • amazing guyzz

  • you guys are listed as 4x4 gurus. That is really scary as you are just flat dangerous!!! So many things in this video violate all forms of intelligent wheeling even down to the point of hooking a recovery strap to a ball hitch. It would be nice for the rest of the off-roading world if you would take these videos down and not post anymore till you can learn to safely operate your gear and not destroy the land in your excursions

  • really should just stick with land rovers

  • idiots

  • idiots

  • This video shows how not to attach a snatch strap 5:41, and I cannot believe that the woman stands there beside the snatch strap 5:49. This is a very dangerous practice and will encourage other idiots to follow suit....

  • get a stock defender with better wheels it will make it no problem with a great driver

  • I don't speak afrikaans but what I'm getting from this is that the land rover is better than the landcruise, right? :o)

  • It's called.... real caravaning...;) keep up good work

  • Isn't the fuel tank in a Land Cruiser directly behind the rear axle? @.@

  • Wrong tyres, no lift, stock suspension, limited recovery gear, poor hitch choice on trailer, no tyre pressure changes to suit the terrain, no underbody protection, no rock sliders.... and that was just in the 47 seconds i could bear to watch wtf!

  • Thats too funny! They should have used a real truck to tow that trailer. Like a Ford F-250 4x4! Superduty!

  • a real truck? they all have live axles and diesel engines what could be more realistic about that?

  • A good vid on why one need s a little bit of experience before going 4WDing.

  • "Moet hy hom GAS gee" WTF? Jy MOET hom gas gee......What ever! en dan is die bitch nog sarkasties oor die klippe wat nie sielkundig benadeel is nie!

  • nice defender

  • fuckin stupid idiots

  • What a bunch of Ass holes!

Seriously! What were these two supposed "guru's" trying to prove? These are the idiots that have gotten 4x4's banned from the beaches in South Africa!

Im sorry but they should stick to private 4x4 tracks and play guru in their own back yard and stop wrecking the environment for the rest!

And that wanker give a land rover even more of a bad name! If the world of wally's ahvent already given them bad names!

  • 'gotten' is not a word. that's all i have to say to that.

  • looks like the jack ass's with the jack ass's have the right idea!!!!

  • For Sale. One cheap caravan. Buyer collects!

  • I have to agree with all the comments so far. WTF

  • Tow with the land rover next time plz

  • iserbel i like how much lol

  • I have just read all 26 comments on this video and not one is positive. In fairness they do all come across as a little "Dof" hey!? As for matey boy driving the Toyota (Pronounced in a lekker dik afrikaans accent jong!), who was he talking too at 3:15? One of his thick maatjies? Nope! One of the local Sotho gents just trying to help I'm sure. That and his Baboon like facial expressions thereafter pretty much sum him and his "Wreckin Crew" up! Lekker my China's, kom ons gaan saam Lesotho toe! JA!

  • It appears that the only BABOONS on Baboons Pass are the ones driving

4x4's. This is a typical ''troop'' showing all responsible 4x4 enthusiasts what NOT to do. THE VIDEO SHOULD STATE: HOW NOT TO DRIVE 4x4's, WRECK YOUR VECHICLES AND DESTROY THE ENVIROMENT. They should be banned from driving 4x4's for life!

  • O ja, Willie, meng jou met die semels - dan vreet die varke jou op! Hierdie trippie moes jou baie gekos het, want die modus operandi van die brigade is juis dit, want hulle het NIKS!

  • I actually know this "rum and rasberry" - "bare feet" brigade. This footage show them at there BEST! It is a real laughing matter when they are actually normal and do not have to pose for a camera.

Some good news for the REAL 4x4 community. The white Landrover has been reposessed (I can hear the Botswana officials sigh of relief....) Eddy in his brilliant inteligence rolled a pipe car with children on it - serious court cases coming up!

  • Comment removed

  • I gave it 1 star since 0 is not an option...

  • Same here!!!!!!

  • This is an appaling display of environmental carelessness, offroad ignorance and sheer bad taste. The amount of dangerous behaviour exhibited in this video is astonishing - the winching practices are so bad they are lucky no-one was decapitated. This gives genuine 4x4 users a bad name and the people responsible for this moronic event shold hang their heads in shame.

  • Couldn't have said it better myself kiytgk! Discraceful show of wilful damage to the environment, clearly no idea about wheel placement, and one of the best "How not to recover a 4WD" videos available for public viewing. There should be a warning at the start "Do not do this at home" - Peter

  • how to look like a baboons arse is more like it. idiots!

  • Sigh...another shocking display from a Kyknet 4x4 show...

Like everyone has said below....the rookie 4x4 mistakes this team made are bad enough, but the total disregard for they show for the beautiful environment they are driving through is inexcusable. The Gooi-mielies brigade in the SA 4x4 community need to be stamped out before they ruin it for the rest of us....

I'm totally appalled and disgusted and think Kyknet should be hauled over the coals.

  • 1st as a guru of 4x4 could you plz tell me why on earth your using road tyres..?

2nd why on earth did you want to take a caravan up there in the first place.....????????

    not very clever....dumb ass`s

  • you call yourself gurus yet you hook a snatch strap to a tow ball at 5:42 what a bunch of morons.

  • Eishi lyk my daai land cruiser het pad tires op?? eeish baas....

  • Haha clowns :)

Some additional advice for "to do" list.

    1. Get rid of your big cross-country car and caravan.

    2. Buy something smaller that fits only to streets. You just can not go to the nature anymore.

    3. Buy tickets to some nice resort and lay there.

    4. Get a brain.

  • What did you prove with this? Maybe to show that idiots can achieve something in life?

And what next? Will you hook a caravan behind a boat and show us that it can FLOAT? Please do us all a big favor and try to use your intelligence .....if you still have some!

  • Now that is just a pure shame. How can people be so ignorant? A public apology wont come close to the long term effect this episode did. Wow.

  • Everyone in this video including the production team at kyknet who decided to screen this are morons.

  • Part 2: "We value the support of all 4X4 enthusiasts and will endeavour to create programming that stimulates and satisfies all our viewers. I hope this addresses your concerns.

  • There has been the 'unofficial response' from KykNET: Part 1 Thank you for your response and commentary on the programme Kamp dit Uit. We are a socially responsible channel and take any programming that does not adhere to our moral code very seriously. From the channel's side we have contacted the production house responsible for the programme and instructed them to make a public apology for the episode.

  • This is why the beaches are now closed. This is why Botswana parks charge so much. This is why there are tracks all over the place. This is why broadcasters are get nervous when agreeing to broadcast any show with a 4x4 in it. This is the type of behaviour that makes us 4x4 guys look like morons - It is utterly unbelievable! Why on earth did you do it? And Kyknet, why on earth did you broadcast it? Shame on you all. signed.. Andrew St.Pierre White and every other human who respects Planet Earth.

  • Since the screening of the show and the video posting, it has caused quite a stir amongst the 4x4 community and many have expressed their distaste - see below

  • reminds me of the time I was drunk off my ass and mistakenly drove a buick skylark through a bog road.. the difference being that was an accident, and Im not a stupid fat sack of crap with a film crew and too much money

  • next year the toyota guy wil buy a roof tent like the lanrover guy :D

  • Complete and utter stupidity.

The lack of driving skill is very plain for all to see, the lack of preparation is even plainer.

All this aside, the sheer idiotic idea of taking a caravan (not exactly light either) up this pass is beyond words.

I am completely and utterly gobsmacked that this drivel was actually shown and that they were not told to go get stuffed when they presented it.

Shocking that the rest of the world now sees this as a African normality.

Idiots - each and every one!

  • 4x4 Guru's? Ha ha. How can this nonsense be shown on television. They are breaking every rule in the book.

  • 6.52 Complete Idiot!!!!

  • Totally irresponcible setting this as an example of what 4x4 travelling is all about, producers should be fired for putting this on TV

  • IRRESPONSIBLE !!!

Make a new track cause the old one is too difficult = track pollution.

We do not need cowboys like this giving responsible off-roaders a bad name

  • Bliksem!

How stupid are these people? No wonder all our neighbouring countries view SA offroaders as hooligans. And to broadcast this nonsense on national TV...

  • What idiots! For "4x4 Guru's" they had great ,safe recovery techniques for example. Standing next to the winch cable when winching, using the tow hook to attach a snatch strap.....etc etc...

  • Would appreciate comments.
