We saw the same type of clouds over Colyton, Devon, UK just the other day, they're quite rare over here; in the next batch of cloud there were mini-funnels forming and dissipating and horizontal ribbons too - the whole sky was amazing. Thanks for sharing : )
I've seen those before. And they're pretty neat too. Looks like the waves swelling on the surface of the ocean as seen from underwater looking upwards.
And they were - shortly after this was taken, boy, did we get the rain, some nice CGs (which I didn't get to capture, dangit). Thanks for watching/commenting!
cool to see that most of us are seeing some storm action! we had severe thunderstorms move in eariler today with winds of 65mph and i also got my first 2009 CG lightning strike. Tonight Friday and expecially on Saturday possible severe weather. OH HELL YEAH!! about time the last storm chase was in November 2008.
Great capture! I seen a few cloud formations just like this yesterday myself! Also they did turn into mammatus. I have video to prove it. Mammatus clouds can form in many different types of cloud formations. So the clouds that you captured here is what I seen, just a few, but after these past, Mammatus clouds filled the sky.
Hi, Nathan! These were cool clouds (in a scary sort of way). Glad I could catch them! Thanks for watching/commenting! Hope you're doing well - recovered from the snow. =]
yeah I have a point and shoot video camera too its the Canon A570 IS but when i take still shots i have a more expensive Nikon D40 SLR with 3 lenses. I have a video about it on my channel.
Thanks, AnonymousStormChaser, for watching and commenting! All I could afford was my little Kodak Easy Share. Does pretty good, don't you think? Thanks for watching/commenting!
