  • I had an instructor in the army who was exactly like that guy. Even looked like him a bit. Not so much the hair, but everything else. He would even forget what he was talking about and revisit the first thing he was talking about "did I show you... when... yeah, I showed you that." was a recurring theme.

  • The original Rick Perry "oops" moment.

There is nothing new under the sun.

  • sex

  • @kadangkaler Yeah I could see him banging a chick suddenly, getting his rocks off, and she runs off. lol

  • His hair looks like the Hawaiian Punch guy.

  • God bless Jim Thurman!

  • the generation x ers lol

  • Even sideways is an X. Better yet, turn it from behind.. is an X. Oh that X!!

  • XYLOPHONE

  • He also forgot to say that X can also be useful on it's own like X marks the spot.

  • Exactly, and other things like a warning for poison, a railroad crossing, and a warning of danger.

  • And even a sign for pirates.

  • There are some animals that begin with x they are hard to find but look hard enough you will find some.

  • I think the fox said something like, 'I came running around. Can you hold?' Or something like that.

  • HAHAHAHAHAAA! The fox DOES sound like he's saying that. Hilarious!

  • that sounds close to what the fox says, yeah we would need a voice pattern machine to figure it out, lol.

  • don't forget Xerox. I still can't figure out what the fox mumbled.

  • That was the first time I undestood the word "exit"

  • Words that end with The Letter X were

    Fox

    Box

    Lox

    Hex

    Sex

  • What about X Marks the spot

  • Axe can be spelled "ax" as well. What about names, like Xerxes and Xavier?

  • Well thanks for saying that. Most of the time when I have seen the word axe writen down it has always been spelt with a silent e.

  • Axe does not end with x. That guy did not know about silent e's.

  • It can be spelled either way -- with an "X" or an "E".

  • Never found it spelled like that anywhere. It's always been with a sillent e.

  • Check the dictionary. It'll tell you that it can be spelled w/o the silent "E".

  • Which one? There's lots of dictionaries in the world.

  • ANY dictionary, even online. Why should that matter??

  • Okay found it now. Thanks.

  • @moatguy he musn't of heard Tom Lehrer's song yet !!

  • @moatguy it's not axe, it's ox what he says... Spanish is my native tongue and even I knew that!

  • He said both axe and ox.

  • Comment removed

  • @moatguy Axe can be spelled "ax".

  • Alright no need to remind me again. I found that out already.

  • @moatguy That was six months ago...

  • I know but my computer was out of action during that time.

  • This guy could use a course in public speaking.

  • The only words I know of that begin with X are X-ray,Xylaphone and Xmas.(Short for Christmas.)

  • True, moatguy...I mean, there's always x for xenophobia...but given the audience Sesame Street is geared toward I guess that's not a very useful example either. (eXample)!

  • Thanks for telling me,Lanakilalesu. Until you told me I only knew 3.

  • BTW, there's no "A" in the word "xylophone". It's spelled with an "O".

  • Please forgive me. My spelling is not good.

  • It's okay.

  • I use to like the part where the fox whispers in his ear...pardon me?

  • love that too: "rewyrw, rweat-tagh!" is what it sounds like...sort of

  • I always thought the fox wanted an ice creme cone, because he says "I kee un wy ree un a ena creme cone."

  • Grover and Jean Marsh once hosted a prime-time compilation of SS cartoons. When this segment came on, Grover covered up his eyes and said, "My mother does not let me watch X-rated films!" He asks Jean Marsh to tell him when the segment is over so he can uncover his eyes.

  • I read about that on Muppet Wiki. 'Twas called the Grover Monster- Jean Marsh cartoon special. Sounds interesting. Wish it were up on youtube.

  • @TnseWlms I never knew about it. Thanks TnseWlms and Garrettk41.

  • I didn't know about it myself until reading this comment. So I looked for it on the Wiki. I understand it shows a lot of cartoons by Chuck Jones and the Hubleys.

  • I recognize that voice anywhere. Jim Thurman, if I'm not mistaken.

  • He probably exited because he felt embarrased for not knowing enough X words/

  • This is a pretty clever cartoon with the poor host stymied for words with "x"

  • This is one of the original Season 1 clips. It was also featured on a NBC special "This Way To Sesame Street", a week before SS went national in 1969.

  • Considering who sponsored that special (Xerox), the guy not knowing any X-words feels a little ironic when I see this clip now. Of course, using brand names or showing trademark logos used to be a BIG no-no on Sesame Street!

  • cool
