  • I like the subtitles

  • @ClarKent but Jeff from athleanx said it's not?

  • wow..perfect

  • did this guy just say Chest fly is better than bench press for your chest?

  • @djBC10000 Scooby the youtube bodybuilder says the same thing

  • Decline bench press is by far the safest and best exercise for the chest. Why? It doesnt just hit the lower pec. This is nonsense. Your hole pec is firing. Two, the hand position of where your shoulders are inline takes the stress off the front deltoid which is where most people when listing heavier more intense weight get injured. This comes not from me but 6 time straight Olympian dornan yates.

  • @Bigturns33 decline bench press is very similar to doing dips.

  • who the fuck keep coughing,

    some1 slap that fucker.

  • I would feel a lot more confident hearing about HIT from a guy that looks like he works out. I'm gonna find a Dorian Yates vid

  • Total facepalm...You don't have to kill yourself you just have to use "progression overload"...Increase a set or rep(in each set)each time you workout and you'll get results...You don't have to get to the point where you train so hard you're going to injure yourself...

  • @ThePatriots010304 Progression overload will also get you to a sticking point. Training hard will not bring injury. The problem comes from going out of form! A cadance is needed. Mike mentzer use to say 4 second positive 4 second negetive to failure.

  • re below: i know that book inside out as i use it and train by it,that shit really works no douth, but this drew baye ballbag is ripping it off and badly,he cant explain it properly, please buy mike metzners"high intensity training" book if you want to gain muscle, you can thank me later

  • i know what he saying is true, but at least he should practise what he preaches, where,s all his muscle gains?he is only recylcling mike metzters book " high intensity training".mike says in that about magazines selling supplements, rest period,he even used sun exposer and tan as reference in detail, and countless other things this fake is saying, read that book and learn from a legend WITH MUSCLES,instead of this bum with none, the book is best you,d ever read, this uy is baffling and goin in circles

  • "even if someone had a gun to your head you cnt get one more rep ! " ha wicked man !

  • wow, all those years doing stupid stuff with dumbells in gym for nothin, thank you Drew Baye, i just learnt how muscle building works.... THANK YOUUUUUU

  • Look into Starting Strength...

  • I suppose this is a good seminar, apart from the suggested routines he gives you. These machine exercises and curls are total shit. Isolated B/S.

  • Curlbro.

  • Yates was not overtraining. He was in steroids. Your body recovers faster on roids.

  • p90x follows a lot of these principles.

  • Im a competitive bodybuilder and I find his talk about the magazines and bodybuilders very uninformed and over simplified.

  • @cleaningotis Can you post a specific example of what you think was uniformed & oversimplified?

  • yea mike metzer never won but dorian yates did

  • yea mike metzar never won but dorian yates did

  • btw. Mike Mentzer was never Mr. Olympia.

  • I like how this guy assumes that every guy trains to impress women.

  • @chris16durban The speech was given at what was (then) primarily a dating convention.

  • @chris16durban 100% agree, i used to compete in olympic weightlifting & people where always saying women don't like muscles that are too big! yes there are alot of 'disco' or 'beach' bodybuilders who want to like good out clubing but hardcore BBers don't want women to say 'he's got hot body' they want them to say 'he is a freak'

  • great video

  • Many here confuse bodybuilding w/weight-training for all-round strength, fitness & health. Successful bodybuilders, before EVER training, have the bone-structure, proportion, tendency to leanness & muscularity to win contests. They do routines that neglect all aspects of fitness except for appearance, consume unhealthy amounts of calories to gain massive muscularity, & take drugs to recuperate from hours-long everyday workouts. Believe it or not, most guys DON'T WANT to look like that.

  • 1 set per excercise? come on! lol if u listen to this...well.. u will prob just look like him. small/avg looking.

  • @joeValrico8 Actually HIT doing 1 set per exercise is one of the most common program styles used by professional bodybuilders!

  • @joeValrico8 : its one of the most efficient ways to build up muscle mass. do your homeworks.

  • @U3ff3s sorry buddy but your way off. do your. ive been at his game for 20 years now. one slow set will not build huge mass. sorry

  • @joeValrico8 agree. I have tried HIT for years. I was a BIG believer in this , a big one. You do get stronger up to a point etc. but for long term you have to vary many things. Also boxers, who according to HIT, severely over train their shoulders (& please no one tell me they do not - I used to box after I stopped HIT) should end up with small shoulders ....why are boxers shoulders well-developed ...that is exactly what I experienced. I can go on and on.

  • @AIMANALI Hey, I boxed too, years ago and felt my shoulders looked best then. What are your thoughts on how muscles develop by a sort of plyometric training like boxing, i.e., explosive movement? Sometimes when I get stuck on squats, I'll do a couple of leg workouts where I just jump as high as I can, which can be intense and effective.

  • @anchorronburgundy u bring up a very good pt. u r correct but TAKE IT FURTHER. I noticed real changes in my legs when for like a couple of months I kicked the H bag (same principle) + did short VERY intense sprints. I than went back to Squats plus the look of my legs changed so much. I can see veins were I NEVER thought possible. I do not know what the scientific explanation is (I have an idea though) BUT it works. I can go on & on, Message me if u want to discuss further.

  • @joeValrico8 Dorian Yates?

  • @djkillertomatotv steroids!!! and he did a variety of workouts not just HIT. its a tool but not the end all be all.

  • @joeValrico8 and growth!

  • @djkillertomatotv Dorian Yates over trained according to HIT . He used various exercises for even small body parts like biceps, 1 set till failure.... and even if that is true - Yates can be one in like 1000. Sample of one is not enough

  • @AIMANALI Dorian Yates emphasized a lot on recovery. He would have workouts that would only last 30 mins, and only train each bodypart once a week when most of the bodybuilders of his era were using double splits and training far more often.

  • He doesnt look fit.

  • i have a question can you change the legpress for deadlift or squats and gets the same results or legpress its just the best, because i love deadlift and would like to do it in my training program today. i train 1x week and i am using legpress+pulldown+benchpress+shoulderpress can i change legpress with deadlift or would deadlift just stop the progress in the other exercises. thanks.

  • Wow! Packed room!LOL

  • soo... what exercises can i do if its just for looks ?

    leg(squat or DL),pullup(with a rear shrug), a push (incline).

    is that enough ?

  • @GrandMasterJuan Do in this order-Squats, Incline Bench press, Stiff Leg dead lifts, Shoulder press, Bent rows, up right rows, straight bar curl, skull crushers, flat dumbbell flys, and calf raises. On your first three exercises do 2 warm up sets with 60 and 80 percent for 5 reps, then do one all out set of 8-10 reps. The remaining 7 exercises you do one set of 8-10 reps. Add five pounds the next workout when you get 10 reps.

  • I'm interested - in comparing this with Dr. McGuff it seems close, but also contradicts in a few ways. Like with McGuff, he just moves right on to the next exercise with no break.

Also - reading this guy's site (baye.com), I notice he seems to endorse doing 3 times a week; but he talks here about the 5-7 days or rest like McGuff; so I'm a little confused.

  • wanted to know which is better,,full body workout vs split routine..

    any suggestions ?

  • Excellent info thanks!!!

Wondering how does the workout change later, when you just need to maintain. Good point on the 6 pack, but i STILL want one :)

  • Somebody actually disliked this? Must have been Ahhnold.

  • listen again and again, its really very good one speech,

  • Awesome awesome video. Will definately start with this. Go to 1:30:00 for a summary

  • @NSS831 good call. Also at the 1:04:00 section he identifies the "Big 5" movements again.

  • Also note that at the 1:29:00 section he quickly shows the chart/record keeping format for tracking how things are going.

  • outstanding speech! thanks for posting

  • @kashiebar29 um, no

  • :) great great logical speech..wish everybody could hear this..

  • If for what ever reason you don't have access to a gym what kinds of home workouts can you do to stimulate this same adaptive response?

  • @waveskissourfeet

Check out Drew Baye's article on 3x3 High Intensity Training Routines on his website, it includes a body weight only routine that only requires a chin up bar. If possible, I recommend gaining access to some quality machines/free weights if you want to maximise your own muscular potential, as using your body weight for resistance will only take you so far, additional resistance will be required. Anyway, give the article a read.

    Fantastic talk by the way.

  • @waveskissourfeet

Rub one out at least 6 times a day.
