just because insane items aren't turned on, doesn't mean samus' armor pieces, diddy kong's banana's, wario's tires, snakes grenades, and other items don't exist. What I am disseminated in is Sirlin's lack of covering glide tossing and how to catch and throw items immediately.
but wow what a match cpu wth an amazing special dodge i wish to be at that level some day (are there any tornaments in the uk ) and how can i get wifi to stop laggin
Items are part of the game. They can add the luck factor if they spawn in an unfair place, but learning to use them is part of the game. If you refuse to play with items all the time it is because you neglect that skill and are henceforth not a pro in every part of Smash.
I liked the series, it taught me some things that I didn't even know about and I've been playing the game for about a year now. 4/5 overall, mainly because the title says "Smash Like a Pro", yet, one of the parts was titled "Items" and talked all about it. Now it would depend on how you would define a "Pro", but Mew2king and Ally, for example, you would not find them fighting each other with items unless the match's purpose was to be a joke; not serious, no money bet, you get my point.
To play smash like a pro is to not have items on lol. That was the only failing in sirlin's videos. Love ya sirlin, but you should have gotten feedback from the real competitive community of smash, not SRK, for guidance in making this video.
real tournament matches dont haVe items on especially smash balls that dosent show any shill its just luck and i'd bet money that if the items were'nt on ken would have murdered that kid
What i beleive is people who dont like items or think they show no skill just like pokemon legands are just people who hate getting beat by items but ok.... maybe you have a point there i remember watching bloodblitz video about the tourney he went to and there was no items but smash balls are the main thing in the game so they really should be aloud
and if items were OFF and only no items were on, then the match would have a much higher degree of validity , as well as a higher degree of reliability .
Ken is an awesome Marth. Clearly he's better than the people who've actually spent time on the game. I'm not biased by his dominance int he melee scene and status as a cult icon
at_all.
CPU is brilliant. Going under the stage with his b^? who would have thought! It's not like any other ROB does that!
It seems Ken isn't so good using items. You can see him missing when he throws them and most of the time just ignoring them. For god sake, he ignored a Pitfall seed, and didn't even tried to kill with the Bumper. Maybe he was trying to play with honor or was some sort of protest against the tournament organizers. Anyway, no wonder he lost.
Evo is the most important tourney in America for most fighting games, but admittedly the appeal of Smash as anything but a fun novelty to play with non-fighting game fan friends is lost on a lot of players who actually remember the first SF2 in the arcades (including me).
Evo is the most important tourney in America for most Capcom fighting games, lol. I remember SF2 as well, lol.
I also remember that it doesn't have a spacing game nearly on calibur with melee, has much less viable strategies, and requires a lot less tech to fully master.
that was the worst possible example of a tournament match. smash at evo was a load of fail. the commentators know nothing of smash and assume that smash balls and items take skill.
this was in NOVEMBER. This was nothing compared to pros then-a-days, tbqh. Ken was pretty much a nonfactor in a brawl scene beyond his Melee influence and CPU gets regularly 2-stocked/2-0'd by loads of California players
I fell asleep around 1:30 when I realized WE'RE STILL ON THE FIRST STOCK.
*insert miscellaneous pro-Melee sentiment here*

Couldn't Sirlin have chosen a more important/high level tournament, like...any biweekly in California
Ever?
