  • Is there a Gracie Barra school in or near Omaha Nebraska? Can't find any online.

  • First came jiu-jitsu (jujutsu).

Then came jiu-do (judo), a style of jiu-jitsu (jujutsu). Kano called his school Kano Jujutsu but named his philosophy (and ambitions to create a sport out of jujutsu) "Judo".

Then early on in Kano's revolution, Maeda went to Brazil. Only americans call the brazilian style "BJJ". In brazil, its JUST JIU-JITSU. Gracie jiu-jitsu is one style, Judo is another, but it's all jujutsu.

    Peace.

  • Seconded about his Judo comments, even if he is a little misinformed ;)

  • @holdyerground1

misinformed about what. I'm sure he would like to be informed. :)

  • "Judo is a part of Jiu Jitsu"

"Created by Jigoro Kano to be softer than Jiu-Jitsu"

    "Basically a branch of Jiu-Jitsu"

  • Say your comment Lahed92801. Glad you decided to remove it as it was also ill informed.

  • @DraculinoTeamTx

I think holdyerground1 is referring to Drac mentioning Judo as an offshoot of Jiu-Jitsu. I'm no Judo historian, but isn't it the other way around? Good series.

  • Draculino is the man!

  • @FrankGuzzetti

    Yes....yes he is. :)

  • Awesome video, I especially like Draculino's comments about Judo. I am starting to see many of my teammates crosstrain in both Judo and Jiu-Jitsu. I myself am even starting to crosstrain. I think in the future many people will become more balanced, well rounded fighters.
